I'm greygerbil on AO3, thank you for writing or drawing for me! Right from the start, I want to say you don’t have to do anything with my prompts, they’re just here in case you want some ideas. If it has my pairing and avoids my DNWs, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it! All ratings are great. I included a list of my general likes and smut likes which apply to all my requests. When it comes to kinks, you can include anything not listed under my DNWs.

Feel free to entirely erase the existence of canon relationships or break them up if they get in the way of the pairings I requested, whichever works best with what you’re trying to do.

Fic where the couple is not yet together but clearly in love, or on the road to getting together, or having their first time kissing/in bed together are great. However, so are established relationship fics. Whatever suits your ideas!

Some prompts may read like ideas for longer fics, but if you’re interested in them, please just grab a scene with the general idea out of the middle of those hypothetical longfics and write me that! I love fic of all length and don’t want anyone to feel like they have to go above the minimum word count. I just get excited writing prompts sometimes.

Considering the number of canons I have where you slaughter your way through untold heaps of NPCs, I should also point out I generally have no problem with gore, blood, and graphic violence.

I’d very much like to see my requested pairings in your style, but if you have a specific stylistic idea, that’s always super fun, too.

Literally any motive that indicates the picture is shippy would always be appreciated, from hand-holding to explicit porn. I’m also always here for pictures of battle couples in action, if you enjoy fight scenes, or the characters doing simple, everyday things together and enjoying themselves. Granblue Fantasy

Justin/Valentin
I had too much fun with these two. Whether they were rocking on stage, doing way too public casual BDSM stuff or being catty music critics, they really seemed to get along very well for two intense personalities that might be somewhat challenging to deal with for ordinary people. Whether during their time with the Vicious Three or later, when it was just those Vicious Two left killing guitarists, or after they’ve been drafted into Aoidos’s new band, I’d love to see more of them together.

For smut, I prefer bottom Valentin. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Valentin. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Valentin and alpha or beta Justin (however, alpha or beta Valentin being “forced” (willingly) into the omega role by Justin would also be fun). Valentin does seem to be indestructible for some reason, so feel free to take a loose interpretation on the DNW “no debilitating mutilations for sexual pleasure”. If all his body parts stay attached and he’s not permanently disabled in some way, I’m totally fine with it (even if they do stuff that really should permanently disable a human being, as long as Valentin bounces back from it...).

• Fine, Justin is going to play Aoidos’s goddamn ballads. However, he’s going to have to let his frustration out on somebody. Valentin is happy to volunteer (he might start enjoying this kind of music just for the side effects it has).


• We know Valentin will take hurt and humiliation wherever it comes from and that doesn’t really bother Justin. Yet at some point Valentin collides with somebody who actually finds it pretty fun to play with him and leans into it. Justin realises rapidly he’s not actually okay with Valentin having other “main sadists” next to him anymore. I’m sure Valentin wouldn’t mind the resulting punishment from Justin at all, though perhaps he’s a bit confused about it (and maybe happy when he realises the reason)?


• Once Justin’s ‘weakness’ has been established, Valentin provoking punishment by flirting with other Doms/sadists etc. would also be fun. Justin’s happy to teach his bad sub better manners!


• Valentin always figured that between the three of them, Justin and Benjamin really had the tighter bond (in the sense that Justin was singularly fascinated with Benjamin and his talent). Now that they’re back with Aoidos, it stings a little bit (for once not in the good way) that he probably won’t have as much of Justin’s attention anymore. Turns out Justin actually is still very interested in Valentin, perhaps to his own surprise.


• Related to the prompt above, but could also be set before that: Justin dealing with the concept of falling in love would be amazing. Being obsessed with Aoidos is kind of logical given his world-view, but actually being in love? What is he supposed to do with that?! And it’s Valentin, who isn’t even some outstanding musical inspiration like Benjamin, so there’s not even a justification.


• Similarly, Valentin trying to come to terms with the ideas that he’s in love with Justin – it’s not like he’s much better adjusted, either. Does he try to court him and what would that look like? Gifts, sex, confessions? Maybe a love song with a little blood and violence (or invitation for Justin to commit violence)? Does he think he doesn’t have a chance because, well, he’s no Benjamin, so it’s all pining until it (hopefully) gets better?


• I would also like to see them make some music together – whether it’s one of the concerts where they kill their criminal guitarist, or whether they’re just practicing. Obviously, they both have pretty high standards, after all! Justin seems to have taken over as songwriter as well, too, so maybe Valentin helps him find some inspiration in that department.


• I love that if Aoidos’s new band sticks together, that would theoretically mean Justin and Valentin are now hanging out on the Grandcypher. They’re probably not even the weirdest people there, to be honest, so why not. Would love to see them settling into their new life. (Alternatively, I would also like them to adjust around Aoidos’s new style if they do travel with him without the others.)


• What does a regular day without a gig look like for these two? They seem to have worked as mercs sometimes, do they still? And what about days off? I’d love to get a glimpse into their normal life, whatever that means for them...


• Playable Justin and Valentin is my fever dream and the event described them as attack dog and shield/sandbag respectively, which sounds like DPS and tank to me, so it’d be interesting to see them fight! If you wanna do h/c, I would love Valentin getting bodied beyond the point where it’s fun even for him (which would be a lot) and Justin flipping out and causing a bloodbath because he thinks Valentin is dead/dying.


• Smut would be very welcome here, of course. I mean, these two seemed to be doing everything but taking off their clothes in game already, Valentin sounded like he was starring in a smut VN. BDSM would be great here, with all that humiliation and/or pain Valentin is constantly begging for. Safe and sane is already out of the window with these two, but I would like it to be consensual (well, aside from all the poor people who constantly have to listen in on their very public dirty talk).


• If you wanna go for something softer, it’d be interesting if one of them was actually hurt and had to recuperate, so they’re forced to be careful or rely on dirty talk and other stuff (well, if Valentin’s hurt, Justin may put his thumb in the wounds a tiny bit).


• I’d also love to see kind of desperate, passionate sex for whatever reason – near-death experience (one they actually didn’t want to end up in, lol), thought the other had died, first time after confessing. I doubt that would end up being vanilla, but it might be a different flavour of spice!


• In the past, one or both of them didn’t really think their sadistic/masochistic urges had a sexual component or repressed that thought, at least. Then they meet each other and, well, that leads to an impactful revelation.


• Do they ever do something like aftercare? Probably not in the traditional sense, but maybe Justin helps with those bandages or chucks a bottle of water at Valentin sometimes?


• Art: Any of the above prompts would be great, of course. Their designs are just really good and I love that short, slight Justin is the sadist and taller, stronger-looking Valentin wants to be slapped by him, so any picture that captures their dynamic (smutty or not) is going to be great. I would also love a picture of them at a concert together or, since they might potentially be hanging out there alongside Aoidos now, hanging out on the Grandcypher. However, I’d also like to see them off-stage, maybe in sleeping clothes or generally just chilling. Also, any sort of shippy interaction from hugs to kisses to Valentin getting stepped on is always welcome!

Benjamin | Aoidos/Valentin
We know more about Justin’s relationship to Benjamin than Valentin’s relationship to him, but it’s clear he’s attached to him as well. I would love to see Valentin around Benjamin or Aoidos or both, since I think either dynamic has a lot of promise. As for Benjamin, he obviously really liked throwing Valentin around and seems to have tolerated his presence, which for Benjamin’s standards is quite good! And how does Aoidos relate to him? Now that he’s founds his memories again, does he still have fun pushing Valentin around a bit?

For smut, I prefer bottom Valentin. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Valentin. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Valentin and alpha or beta Benjamin | Aoidos (however, alpha or beta Valentin being “forced” (willingly) into the omega role by Benjamin | Aoidos would also be fun). Did Valentin’s masochistic urges seem interesting to Benjamin? Both? I would love to see their first meeting.


• Benjamin being the person who first makes Valentin fully give in to his masochistic side, basically unlocking it with his personality and/or music, would also be great.


• What was life with the band like during Vicious Three’s first stint? Benjamin obviously had fun punishing Valentin like he wanted, but did he ever sleep with him? If yes, did it start from the beginning or was there something later in their history that triggered it? I’d love to read about it.


• I would love to read about what Valentin sees in Benjamin’s music and how it intersects with what he sees in him as a person.


• I’d also love to know how his feelings for Benjamin develop (whether they’re traditional ‘being in love’ or something more twisted and intense, or both). Is he as fascinated as Justin, but just not quite as obvious about it most of the time? Does he have a little bit more distance?


• The game describes Valentin as the sandbag/shield for the group. Well, that just spells h/c for me (although in Valentin’s case, the hurt probably is in some ways the comfort, lol). Still, even Valentin probably doesn’t quite want to die yet, so things might still get out of hand. Benjamin or Aoidos not being very happy with their enemies at all when Valentin lies ostensibly lifeless on the ground would be very cool, too.


• Benjamin used sleep with Valentin. Aoidos, recovering memories, realizes he’s in love with him (possibly still in love with him, as far as Benjamin could be in love). He resolves to win Valentin back. Considering that he is a very high drama person, this is probably not a quiet and understated process. Do Grandcypher personnel and/or Justin get roped in?


• Aoidos composing and singing a lovesong with heaps and heaps of pathos would be really fun as well. What does Valentin think of it?


• Valentin actually said he kind of got Benjamin’s string-ballad-including vision, so he doesn’t seem to be as opposed as Justin to that kind of music, or he at least doesn’t mind following Benjamin’s lead. Would love for him and Aoidos to work together on some music.


• Aoidos still has some of Benjamin’s violent urges, but unlike Benjamin, he doesn’t want to kill people during concerts anymore and generally really doesn’t want to hurt unwilling people at all. Luckily, there’s someone who is very, very willing. Does Aoidos feel bad at first? Can Valentin take that worry from him?


• Generally, smut would be great, of course. Benjamin seemed to enjoy playing with Valentin, so if he wants to step on him some more, or find other ways to play, that would just be great. However, Aoidos re-learning Valentin’s basically non-existing boundaries would be very fun as well. Benjamin probably had no scruples to go hard from the beginning, but Aoidos might push and push it a little more each time, kind of fascinated (possibly a little horrified, also horny) when there just never seems to be a limit. I also like the idea of Aoidos still being a Dom, but a different sort of Dom than Benjamin (maybe less harsh, or maybe more into all sorts of experiments, or whatever else you’d find interesting) and Valentin adjusting to that.


• Perhaps Aoidos also wants to have normal sex sometimes. Valentin manages to deal with it because, well, at least he’s still doing what is asked of him, right? And maybe he actually finds he likes this a little bit, too (though it’s unlikely it’s ever going to fully replace his thirst for getting messed up).


• Aftercare would be interesting! Benjamin’s might be cursory, but perhaps he does like to make sure Valentin is not literally coming apart at the seams (since he’s unsure if Valentin would even notice or care). Aoidos, meanwhile, could actually do some of the more standard stuff, which severely confuses Valentin at first. Does he end up liking it?

They have pretty designs and I really like that the one who’s got the beautiful outfit and long hair is the one stepping on the tougher looking guy, so any picture that captures that dynamic (smutty or not) is going to be great. Let’s get the whole band together! I really liked the vibe between these three from what little we got to see. Whether it’s Vicious Three in its short heyday or Justin and Valentin adjusting around the new Aoidos (and Aoidos dealing with recovering his memories and incorporating them into his personality), all would be good. I’d be happy for something that goes deeper into their personalities and relationships, or a plotty fic of them getting roped into Skyfarer or merc work, but I would also enjoy smut, considering these three were like a BDSM porn waiting to happen when Benjamin was still around.

For smut, I prefer bottom Valentin and have no preference between the other two. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Valentin. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Valentin and alpha or beta Benjamin | Aoidos and Justin (however, alpha or beta Valentin being “forced” (willingly) into the omega role by the other two would also be fun).

• Valentin is pretty damn obvious about his wishes now, but maybe before meeting Benjamin and Justin, he was still trying to keep it in? Would definitely love a story where Valentin first gives in to his desires while spurned on by their music and personalities.


• Alternatively, Benjamin collecting Valentin first and finding Justin later. Justin being enabled by Benjamin’s music and then having Valentin as a punching bag already available – how convenient!


• If you want to do an AU, it’d be interesting to see what would have happened if Justin had bit his tongue and somehow managed to force himself into going along with Benjamin’s musical experiments. What would a more balanced version of Benjamin look like? Maybe he would have mellowed the others, too?


• I would love to see a day (or hour or moment) in the life of the Vicious Three before they broke apart.


• Since Aoidos has decided the band is reunited, I guess Justin and Valentin now travel with him (and potentially the Grandcypher). I bet it’s going to take some time to get used to Aoidos, but by the New Year’s event it sounded like they’d kind of adjusted to the situation, even if they still find interacting with normal people kind of difficult... I would love to see something from their everyday life!


• Valentin’s position as the shield/sandbag was probably not chosen without being self-serving (it’s a good way to collect punches!), but nevertheless I would love for him to tank for his somewhat more fragile-looking boyfriends in a fight, whether it’s fun for him or actually uncomfortable – especially if the other two pay back the attackers.


• Okay, here’s an old joke. What’s the last thing a drummer says to their band? “Hey guys, why don’t we try one of my songs?” Well, Valentin doesn’t seem to be very pushy when it comes to that, other than wishing Justin would write more violence against him into his tracks, but it would be interesting if he was experimenting with drum parts and stuff by himself or even actually writing songs. His and Justin’s nagging about the Doss does show they do take music seriously, lol. Benjamin and Justin listening in and incorporating some stuff would be fun. Or maybe Aoidos is the first one who wants Valentin’s input, though Justin is skeptical, but it works out.


• Perhaps Benjamin/Justin used to be a thing, but after Benjamin was gone, Justin and Valentin started sleeping together in an FWB sort of arrangement. Now that Aoidos has force-reunited the band, Justin and him get back together. Valentin expects that he’s only going to get scraps in the form of some random punishment as before, but is actually unhappy about the situation, even though he’d get to feel inferior, so that’s very odd to him! When do the other two catch on? Maybe Valentin confesses? Or perhaps (invonceivably) he rejects an insult or physical attack – they’d definitely realise something is super off. And they actually really don’t want to be without him...


• Aoidos and Valentin are flirting, but they both know Aoidos probably won’t hurt Valentin like he wants it. Aoidos has a lightning strike of inspiration, though: why not keep outsourcing that part to Justin, who loves doing it anyway? (Aoidos also thinks watching would be interesting, too, maybe...) Only, of course, Justin accidentally ends up entangled much deeper in their relationship.


• Aoidos still has some leftover violent urges from his time as Benjamin, but no more desire to act them out randomly. However, Valentin is still there and oh-so-happy to help. This means he does not spend a lot of time petitioning Justin for punishment anymore, though. Justin likes literally nothing about this new arrangement because he wants both men. It turns out Aoidos and Valentin are glad to invite him when they realise he’d like to join in.


• Alternative to the prompt above, it would also be very fun if Justin is the one who offers Valentin to Aoidos to share to get his violent urges (that Justin incidentally likes to watch) under control.


• Benjamin and Justin arguing while casually shoving an excited Valentin around was kinda hot, not gonna lie. I would love to see more of that! (Especially if it doesn’t end in a (nonconsensual) stabbing this time.)


• Generally, smut would be awesome, whether with Benjamin or Aoidos. Benjamin seemed to be Justin’s match in sadism, if not more. Safe and sane is already out of the window with these three, but I would like it to be consensual. Otherwise, go wild! But what about Aoidos? Maybe he brings a completely different dynamic to the bedroom as a Dom that Valentin and Justin will first have to get used to, or maybe his sadism is just a bit more loudly enthusiastic.

So I’m sure it’s obvious, but I really like Valentin and I’d like to see him bounce off all sorts of people. Whether it’s a relationship that develops through music, whether it’s someone he just meets on the road or on the Grandcypher or something, or whether it’s simply an enjoyable fling with someone (or another meeting with a former enjoyable fling that turns into more), all would be great. Maybe he even ends up having a suitor? He’s not exactly shy about what he likes, so I imagine if there’s a sadist in his 50 metre radius, they might become interested in what is going on over there. There are some ideas for the OMC below, but feel free to go wild as long as the character isn’t related to Valentin and isn’t underage (I would somewhat prefer no Harvin, too, since visually their adults also look a bit like kids to me).

Maybe Valentin also gets to know him on the Grandcypher (where he potentially lives now maybe if it’s convenient for the fic, lol) or on tour with Aoidos.


• So far, Valentin’s Doms all seem to be on the slighter side (Benjamin and Justin), so maybe he ends up running into a pretty Erune that he’s also very into? That would be very hot. However, I would also like to see him collide with a big draph (or human) man, or just generally someone who outclasses him in strength.


• Perhaps Valentin used to have an affair/Thing with someone before he was in the Vicious Three. After years, he runs into the OMC again and it turns out they still very much enjoy each other’s company.


• Someone being like head over heels in love with Valentin could be cute, too. I mean, we know Valentin is really into humiliation and being degraded, but he does seem to want attention from people who he likes nevertheless (as evidenced with Aoidos multiple times), so it might still be quite enjoyable for him.


• An OMC sadist who has never quite met his match runs into Valentin and they have the most amazing night together, getting along in bed and also otherwise. Later, the OMC can’t stop thinking about it and ends up making another meeting happen to ask Valentin on a date (or possibly into bed, or both).


• There’s an OMC that Valentin keeps being around, maybe on the Grandcypher, who is absolutely adamant he has no sadistic tendencies whatsoever and all that weird BDSM stuff Valentin does is crazy, yet he still really likes hanging around Valentin. Valentin correctly thinks that he protests way too much and loves teasing him, but also finds him fun to be around. This does lead to them getting closer over time, though (and eventually, maybe the OMC breaks and lets out everything he’s been holding in and they end up having amazing sex).


• The OMC is a musician who is really into the Vicious Three artistically, but didn’t think he’d find the band members so interesting. However, Valentin and him share more than an appreciation for music.


• Maybe the OMC is someone with strong powers of healing magic. This opens up quite a few possibilities when it comes to what they can do in bed. (And as a professional, the OMC just finds Valentin’s unexplained super-human resilience interesting, so he just has to experiment.)


• I would definitely like to see what a date with Valentin is like if the OMC is inclined to take him on one. Maybe it’s a classic sort of date, like they’re out for something to eat? Maybe it’s one that starts and ends in the bedroom? Maybe he would enjoy going to a concert? Alternatively to being into the concert, the two of them are being music snobs and just think the bands on stage are bad, but hey, complaining can be fun as well, lol.


• If you want to go for something romantic (and/or dramatic), I would love Valentin having a moment where he’s like Oh No I’m Attached because he’s probably capable of being attracted to anyone who is willing to hit him, but he’s not all that used to being in love and might in fact wonder if he’s the kind of person anyone falls in love with since he’s kind of objectively messed up. How do OMC and him get together?


• What do Justin and Benjamin | Aoidos think about the whole thing? I mean, I doubt they care about Valentin’s hook-ups, but in case the OMC keeps sticking around, they’ll end up running into him. Does the OMC manage not to be totally terrified? Or maybe he fits right in with them personality-wise. Aoidos might also be a good buffer if we’re in that part of the timeline, since he’s... well, not normal, but at least less murderous than Justin.


• As some of the above prompts probably imply, I would also enjoy smut and of course with Valentin, BDSM is kind of implied. Just Valentin getting to enjoy himself with someone who gives him what he wants and being very eager to please the OMC in turn would be fun. Whether it’s verbal humiliation or someone stepping on him or giving him another scar, all sounds good. We know Valentin is very resilient, so there are many possibilities.


• Aftercare could be fun here if you’d like to focus on the aftermath? Maybe the Dom he picks up always does it, but we know while Valentin consents to pretty much anything, safe and sane have never been on his list and he might not have had that before. Turns out it’s kind of fun to let someone put the pieces back into place (with the implicit promise they’ll be shattered again sometime).


• Art: Any of the above prompts would be great, of course. I really like Valentin’s design, what with him having all the scars and bandages, but still looking kind of intimidating regardless. I would really like to see your design for the OMC, too. Depending on what he’s like, I imagine there are a lot of different possibilities for his look and possible poses for the two. The OMC watching Valentin on the drums (or playing an instrument/singing himself if he’s a musician) would be fun as well. However, I’d also like to see them hanging out, maybe in sleeping clothes or generally just chilling together. Also, any sort of shippy interaction from hugs to kisses to Valentin getting stepped on is always welcome!

Richard/Krugne
Krugne is such a likeable weirdo and Richard is really a bit of a walking catastrophe, so I immediately found both of these characters very entertaining. Since they have the luck and gambling motif in common, the game already threw them together for Krugne’s fate and I loved the mix of confused interest and slight dread Richard seemed to feel around Krugne (he may actually be correct that Krugne would have taken that criminal’s spine if he could be sure not to have gotten into trouble, lmao). The gacha system has not yet decided to bless me with SR Richard, so it’s possible my prompts might be missing that context, but feel free to pull from all story you know, I don’t mind spoilers! For smut, I prefer bottom Krugne. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Krugne. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Krugne and alpha or beta Richard.

• Richard is just not very lucky in love, as we know, but perhaps he’d get a bit luckier if he got to know the person first and didn’t always fall in love at first sight. Maybe he thinks that’s kind of the only way love has to go, but after a while of being around Krugne on the Grandcypher, he realises that he’s managed to develop deeper feelings somewhat more slowly this time.


• Krugne is very focused on his spine dice. What makes him pay attention to Richard? Richard does seem to have a mysterious connection to all gambling-related items, being so lucky with them, so maybe he finds his relationship to dice fascinating? This might open him up to wanting to know more about the person Richard as well.


• Because Krugne is such a weirdo that he barely acts like a human(oid) being of any determined age other than adult and Richard is kind of an ongoing disaster, they might not realise at first that they have a 14 year age difference (Krugne is 18, Richard is 32). When do they notice? Maybe Krugne hasn’t slept with anyone yet, since he’s still fairly young and also fixated on dice and Richard ends up being his first; or maybe Richard is his first serious relationship (although considering Richard’s luck with love, Krugne might be his first serious partner as well...). Does Richard worry whether he’s a bit too old? Krugne doesn’t mind, though.


• Krugne does that flat little fake-laugh a lot, but I would love for Richard to make him laugh for real.


• Via his holiday lines, Krugne taught himself to bake cake and made a little game where Gran had to throw a dice to determine which cake he got (apparently, the children also wanted in on it next year, haha). Does Richard also get a chance to gamble on which of the christmas cakes he gets to eat? Does this count as real gambling and thus triggers his lucky streak, or is it not and thus somehow ends with him managing to lose a cake-related dice game? And what would losing entail?


• I kind of want Richard to pet Krugne’s ears. I know that is not a very detailed prompt, but Krugne’s ears are just so fluffy!


• I loved Richard’s and Krugne’s little adventure in SR Krugne’s Fate Episode, so I would like to see them solve more gambling-related crimes. As long as someone is disrespecting dice, Krugne will be there!


• Krugne hasn’t really had time to fully appreciate Richard’s rotten luck yet. Richard accidentally ruining a date via being very unlucky and Krugne being understanding because fate does as fate does, just like with dice, would be cute.


• I feel that among all his talk of spines and dice, the fact that Krugne has the talent to replicate whatever he has seen someone do even just once sometimes gets a bit lost, but I find it interesting. When does Richard pick up that he has that talent? Does it come in handy for them at some point (whether in a plotty or everyday or smutty situation)?


• Richard finally gets to live out his ideas of romance with someone! Krugne might find it all a bit weird, but well, Richards seems happy, so it’s fine.


• Maybe Lydia is trying to matchmake this relationship, too? It didn’t work out last time when she tried to get Richard with someone, but you never know! The Grandcypher crew meddling in general would be fun.


• Smut would be great! Just the two of them having fun in the bedroom. Does Richard’s bad luck extend here as well? Even if there are one or two mishaps, I’m sure they can work through it.


• Those ‘adult game’ dice with sex positions and related other stuff on them seem like something Krugne would have a lot of fun with (while also being very serious about doing exactly what the dice ask of him) – and Richard might be in luck here because since it’s a gambling game, the dice would always show what he wants, right?


• Art: Any of the above prompts would be great, of course. I really like both of their character designs and would just love to see them together. Both of them in a casino setting seems like it would work very well for them. Krugne as Richard’s ‘lady luck’ (you know, blowing on the dice and stuff like that – not that Richards needs it) would also be great. I’d also like to see them hanging out together; maybe Richard watches Krugne make some spine dice or they play a game together that’s not luck-based so it’s actually interesting or they’re just on a date together or something. Also, shippy stuff like kisses, hugs, smut and so on is of course always appreciated.

Original Male Character/Krugne
I really enjoy Krugne as a character, strange guy that he is, and would love to see him meet all sorts of people and fall in love. He’s obviously very focused on his creepy spine dice, but we know that he eventually befriends GranDjeeta and he did have a good friend back in his hometown as well, so he’s not fully averse to dealing with select people. There are some ideas for the OMC below, but feel free to go wild as long as the character isn’t related to Krugne and isn’t underage (I would somewhat prefer no Harvin, too, since visually their adults also look a bit like kids to me).

• Who is the OC? An Erune, a Draph, a human? What island to they hail from and how did they end up on the Grandcypher (or wherever Krugne currently is)? I would love to hear about their motivations and backstory as well. Perhaps Krugne can even assist them?


• I feel that among all his talk of spines and dice, the fact that Krugne has the talent to do whatever he has seen someone do once sometimes gets a bit lost, but I find it interesting. Perhaps he sees someone do something he likes and copies him and the guy wants to know more about Krugne.


• We’ve already met one other person who likes rune dice, but what if the next person wasn’t an evil criminal trying to use skyfarer spines? Perhaps he actually meets someone who, in this or another way, matches his enthusiasm for dice or bone carving or another related occupation.


• Perhaps the OMC is a small-time crook who used loaded dice (the biggest crime of the century according to Krugne, as we know), but somehow gets absorbed onto the Grandcypher like so many and runs into Krugne. Sparks fly immediately, possibly also dice. But perhaps the man does find Krugne’s earnestness somewhat endearing and they start to get along?


• Krugne is out there alone looking for monster spines. He’s not the greatest fighter, but he can hold his own (when he doesn’t accidentally paralyse himself with his dice roll, that is...). He runs into a merc or skyfarer who is not convinced that the dice guy is going to be okay and tags along, perhaps also on some quest of his own that takes him in a similar direction. On the way, they start talking.


• Krugne is still fairly young, only eighteen, and he is very fixated on his dice, so I wonder if he has any romantic or sexual experience. If he does, maybe it surprises his partner? If he doesn’t, maybe they can teach him a thing or too? Or perhaps the OMC is his age or older but inexperienced, so they figure it out together.


• I could see Krugne seeming a bit cold, since he’s rather reserved if he’s not angry about dice mistreatment. Perhaps the OMC he is FWB with is pining, but Krugne is already in love, just not good at showing it. How do they figure it out?


• What would a date with Krugne look like? We do know he has successfully taught himself to bake cake (at least for the holidays), so maybe the OMC also gets to throw dice in that cake game Krugne invented to decide which cake he’s allowed to eat? Or maybe the OMC thinks of something fun for them to do.


• If the OMC pets Krugne’s ears, I’m sure no one could blame him... does Krugne find it weird at first or sort of endearing?

Genshin Impact

Kaeya/Albedo
I just find this pairing quite fascinating because they’re both tied deeply into the lore of Khaenri’ah and Albedo seems like the kind of guy that Kaeya couldn’t fluster or trick easily, which means they’d bounce off each other in interesting ways. Perhaps Kaeya takes it upon himself to find out more about Albedo after the very odd occurrences in Dragonspine or maybe Albedo guesses there’s more to Kaeya than meets the eye? On the other hand, perhaps it’s also just that they keep meeting at the Knight’s Headquarters and many small conversations build towards a growing interest between them. For smut, I prefer bottom Albedo. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Albedo. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Albedo and alpha or beta Kaeya (scenarios where only homunculi or only humans/Khaenri’aheans have A/B/O or they have A/B/O systems that aren’t completely the same are also fun!).

• I always found Kaeya’s voice-line about Albedo funny. He sounds a bit jealous – maybe because Albedo gets attention instead of him, but perhaps it is also because he’s not really that happy about people being that interested in Albedo. Perhaps he gets a bit short with someone who is obviously flirting with Albedo, too, to the point that Albedo notices, since Kaeya is usually so charming...


• Albedo seems to find socialising rather taxing, going by his voice-lines. Yet, maybe he realises that it curiously comes quite easy with Kaeya. Very strange, that!


• Albedo can come off as distant, so maybe while they’re already sleeping together and Albedo even is in love with Kaeya, Kaeya thinks he’s the only one emotionally involved and getting bitter about it (and then getting bitter about that because it’s not like they made promises to each other). Realising Kaeya’s mood is getting worse, Albedo sets out to find out what is wrong and help; or perhaps Kaeya accidentally says something he didn’t mean to let slip and Albedo realises the misunderstanding.


• So I know the star-shape theme is likely not supposed to be an actual story-beat and just a visual marker they use to tie together characters with a connection to Khaenri’ah. Still, it would be kind of funny if because Albedo has seen people from Khaenri’ah and/or pictures of them, he knew from the first time he saw Kaeya that he was from Khaenri’ah because, well, he has primogen pupils. What’s Kaeya’s reaction to learning this and when/how does he find out? He doesn’t have to lie to Albedo, which is nice, but someone knowing his heritage is a risk.


• If Albedo has figured out Kaeya’s heritage, one way or another, when does he tell Kaeya and why? Maybe they’re already in a relationship? Or maybe Albedo figured something sus was going on and he lets Kaeya know he’s keeping an eye on him and knows his secret? If the latter, maybe working together to figure out the actual problem (maybe the Abyss Order causing trouble again) brings them closer together.


• Perhaps Kaeya is the one who figures out Albedo knows from a thoughtless remark Albedo makes or a note he finds among his research. He gets very anxious about this fact because someone finding out did not end well for him last time, but when confronted, Albedo is actually not that worried. After all, Kaeya was always a friend to Mondstadt. But also, Albedo may be one of the few people who can understand the problem of divided loyalties – what would he do if Rhinedottir showed back up and acted against Mondstadt, or if he otherwise ended up being a danger to it?


• Or Kaeya confesses that he is from Khaenri’ah to Albedo, whom he is in a relationship with (or good friends with while pining), half-expecting to end up in a brutal fight for it; Albedo reassures him he is already aware. (Of course, it would also be interesting to know Albedo’s reaction if he didn’t know. I do hope it’s not the end of their relationship.)


• It’s never really clear where Kaeya grew up or what remains of Khaenri’ah at all. What was his story before coming to Mondstadt? Maybe it comes back to haunt him in some way (actually or mentally) and Albedo helps out.


• Speaking of secrets, when does Kaeya find out that Albedo is not a regular human being? (And what did Albedo mean when he said he might destroy Mondstadt? Does he ever bring that up again?)


• Kaeya comes into his lover Albedo’s private rooms and hugs/kisses him. Then Albedo steps through the door. Turns out Kaeya has now met Primordial Albedo. What does he think about all this? (I’m very happy with this going in a direction of Kaeya learning more about Albedo’s origins and that bringing them closer; however, if you want to do tropey smut with Albedo and Primordial Albedo all up on Kaeya because Albedo wants to show his predecessor all the fun things humans can do (with a very willing Kaeya), that would be fun, too!)


• I’m gonna need some horses for Kaeya to ride – he’s the cavalry captain! Also, he would look very dashing on a horse (and maybe Albedo thinks so, too). Has Albedo ever ridden on a horse or does he find the prospect daunting? Perhaps he can sit with Kaeya for the time being or Kaeya teaches him to ride.


• Kaeya thinks Albedo doesn’t relax enough. He convinces him to go out drinking one night. This ends with the two of them having a drunken hook-up. How do they deal with that when they both wake up a little more sober the next morning? Did this actually manage to shake Albedo’s composure and Kaeya finds this cute? Or maybe Albedo is surprisingly unsurprised because he had feared he would act on hidden impulses when his inhibitions are lowered...


• Obviously, I do have to ask for Albedo to draw Kaeya, and maybe in more detail than the face+eyepatch outline he mentions in his voicelines, lol. Perhaps without quite knowing why, Albedo keeps sketching Kaeya and just can’t get him out of his head. What happens when Kaeya stumbles over the pictures? Also, this could go the smutty route if they’re already sleeping together or are interested in each other. Maybe Kaeya suggests they should do some anatomy studies...


• Battle couple seems like a good theme for them as well! Have them fight some dastardly enemies of Mondstadt together as the valiant knights they are! Also, I would love for them to take on the Abyss Order together, since those have a relation to Khaenri’ah as well.


• What do their friends think when their relationship becomes known? Is Diluc still against his will interested in what (who) his brother does, especially if it’s someone as sus as Albedo? Do Albedo’s assistans wonder how Kaeya managed to charm their calm mentor? Is Klee happy that means she’ll see more of Uncle Kaeya?


• Kaeya and Albedo babysitting Klee would also be immensely cute (and maybe they can even prevent a large-scale forest fire with their combined powers...).


• Smut would always be great! I could see them ending up sleeping together as FWB (maybe even acquaintances with benefits) that slowly, accidentally slide into something more meaningful, so any occasion on the path towards that would be great to see. However, perhaps there was an actual love declaration and their first time together is very sweet and/or passionate as a result.


• Kaeya seems like exactly the kind of person who would have worked out how to use his ice vision for smutty purposes. Maybe a little carefully applied cool stimulation?


• Does being a homunculus have any effect on Albedo’s body that would be relevant for smut? For example, maybe he has a vagina in addition to a penis because why not, Rhinedottir can’t stop, won’t stop. I could also see it being more incidental stuff like perhaps while everything looks and works the same as with your regular cis male, he doesn’t produce semen because Rhinedottir hadn’t fully worked out the reproduction part yet. Or maybe it’s just that he’s not limited by human weaknesses such as a refractory period!


• And, of course, since Albedo is a scientist, perhaps some of his experiments end up smutty. Maybe he accidentally made sex pollen or got some delivered to his lab for studying, but they end up affecting him and/or Kaeya? Anything like that could be very fun.


• Art: Any of the above prompts would be great, of course. Both Albedo and Kaeya are such pretty characters, so having them together in the same picture, maybe figthting together or drinking at the Angel’s Share or just at the Knight’s headquarters, would already be a treat. Kaeya also uses the tall male model and Albedo is on the short one, so that would be nice to emphasize, since I love me some height differences. The two of them in a more sinister setting like Dragonspine or an Abyss Order hide-out to underline that Khaenri’ah connection would also be interesting. Also, shippy stuff like kisses, hugs, smut and so on is of course always appreciated.

Gorou/Arataki Itto
I like both of these characters a lot and enjoy the surprise connection they gave them, with Itto being so enthusiastic about Ms. Hina and that already colouring his view of Gorou in a positive way. Now all there is to do is to let these two get to know each other properly! Itto may seem a little too irreverent to General Gorou at first, but after learning more about him, he’ll notice there’s more to him than just jokes and bluster. Meanwhile, I’m sure Itto would come to appreciate Gorou’s friendly, earnest nature as well. For smut, I prefer bottom Itto. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Itto. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Itto and alpha or beta Gorou (scenarios where only oni or only humans/dog-humans have A/B/O or they have A/B/O systems that aren’t completely the same are also fun!).

• Apparently Ms Hina isn’t an expert when it comes to romantic love and Gorou says he doesn’t know what it’s like to be in love. What if being around Itto finally gives him an idea?


• Itto falling head over heels for Gorou once he actually spends a little more time around him would be very cute as well. I mean, there is his subconscious reaction to him, but there’s a lot to like about Gorou when just watching him act as the good general and good friend he is, too.


• Itto writes to Ms. Hina about how best to confess his crush on Gorou. Ms. Hina is famously not that good with romance questions, so perhaps the answer is a bit unusual – not that Itto would realise. Gorou, however, very much recognizes his own advice when it’s suddenly used against him.


• Gorou doesn’t seem to realise much about how his column is marketed, but Itto is a big fan. I bet if he found out the truth somehow, he’d be excited (perhaps Yae Miko’s unquenchable thirst for Gorou bullying has set in once again and she drops a hint to Itto, or Itto finds his own letter among the ones Gorou is answering).


• Or maybe Gorou is the one who puts it together when seeing the Ms. Hina’s cut-out at the publishing house (Itto seems like the kind of guy who could somehow miss the uncanny resemblance...). He’s not happy, but Itto reassures him that it’s still great. I’m sure some fans would care that cute doggirl Hina isn’t strictly true, but Itto actually just finds her advice insightful and it doesn’t matter to him! (Plus, Gorou is also cute.)


• I like that while the game obviously has fun with the cute doggo guy, it often focuses on how Gorou is very serious and conscientious about his role as a general, and that his men take him serious, too. Maybe Itto also gains an appreciation for Gorou as a leader (and it doesn’t help him not moon over Gorou, either).


• Okay and also Gorou getting into military mode when ordering the Traveller to tie up the Treasure Hoarders in his hangout waskinda hot, so Itto appreciating that specific aspect would also be great, even is he’s probably as surprised and confused as he’s turned on.


• Gorou likes mountain climbing and I’m sure Itto would be happy to come along. The two of them having a fun day outside (with only minimal Itto almost killing himself by being too enthusiastic and dropping off a mountain) would be great.


• Gorou meets Granny Oni! I feel like this could be very cute and that he would come to appreciate Itto in a new way, too, since he’s clearly not unaware of the fact that Granny Oni has stood up to some scrutiny herself for taking him in and is grateful to her.


• Apparently Gorou has four older siblings. Let them swarm to inspect his new boyfriend! Inazumans tend to be wary of oni, so I’m sure they’d at least want to check him out. Similarly, I’m sure Itto’s gang would like to meet Gorou, so that would also be a fun scenario.


• As a less fun prompt to do with peoples’ reaction to oni, maybe Gorou does watch people be aggressive towards Itto (perhaps even his own people of Watasumi, which would be even more shocking for Gorou). Itto isn’t really shaken by it anymore, but Gorou does not like it at all.


• Itto hears about the rumour that you should rub Gorou’s ears for good luck. I mean, you kind of got to try, right? Or he asks Gorou straight out what he’d have to do so Gorou would allow him.


• So Gorou admitted that he daydreams about someone grooming his tail for him. Itto is always busy with that comb. Match made made in heaven? I bet he’d be really happy to help. Maybe he even asks to do it when he sees Gorou’s tail is in a bad state after a long day.


• Itto takes an extra job so he can buy Gorou some fancy cake (or dango, or other snacks he might want). That, or he bakes some cake himself and despite it being as unusual-looking as his signature dish, to Gorou’s surprise it actually tastes really good!


• Itto’s favourite food is lollipops. Seeing him happily lick and suck on them becomes... distracting to poor Gorou sometimes.


• Since Gorou is the support that was built for Itto, it would be great to see these two fight together. Are they surprised how amazing their chemistry is on the battlefield?


• Smut would be very appreciated. Is their first time passionate sex between lovers who have just confessed, or friends just messing around? I would also love to see sex between FWB that accidentally gets way too emotionally involved.


• Maybe one of them is not that experienced or even a virgin. Itto would probably be really enthusiastic regardless, if perhaps secretly nervous he’s going to do something wrong. Gorou seems like he might get easily embarrassed, but Itto’s open nature might help him get over it, since Itto really doesn’t care if everything goes to plan (he never even has a plan, for like, most things, anyway).


• Trying out new kinks seems like a great idea for these two as well. Is Gorou terribly embarrassed when he asks? Is Itto twice as loud and exuberant as usual to make up for the fact that he feels super awkward if he’s the one who has an idea? I’d be happy if the other was supportive (and into it), of course.


• First time bottoming for Itto would be interesting as well! Maybe he’s just so used to topping people as a big strong oni, since everyone wants that, so he didn’t really think too deeply about trying the other side before. However, either Gorou likes topping more or, after they’ve slept together for a while, he just wants to switch it up to try something new. Itto finds he’s surprisingly into it.


• I am absolutely here for tropey “dog people and/or oni go into heat”-stories as well. Of course their friend would help the other out!

I’m very fond of the size difference, so any picture that elaborates on that would be great. Itto petting Gorou’s ears (or Gorou grabbing his horns in retaliation) or grooming Gorou’s tail would be very cute, too – generally, I’d love a picture of the two of them being physically all over each other. If you want to go for something more dramatic, I would also like a picture of frontline DPS Itto being torn up after a battle and Gorou helping to patch him up. Also, shippy stuff like kisses, hugs, smut and so on is of course always appreciated.

Takuya/Arataki Itto
Itto’s story quest was everything. I loved these two together. Takuya was so bitter, but at the same time, he didn’t want the sacrifice of the blue oni to go to waste and pull the red oni down with him, which could well have been a reaction to his troubles as well. Meanwhile, Itto respects what the blue oni have done, but decides that with his endless positivity, he’s going to fix this and nobody should end up suffering. Then that save! It’s the perfect beginning for a love story. For smut, I prefer bottom Itto. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Itto. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Itto and alpha or beta Takuya.

• Takuya and Itto both end up in jail. Do they have the same or adjoining cells? It’d be a good way to get to know each other.


• Takuya wants to be exasperated with Itto because he can be a lot, but in the end, he can’t help but be charmed by Itto’s unfailing attempts to make things go well (and it’s not like he’s all talk – he could have died saving Takuya).


• From Itto’s story, we know that quite a few humans never seem to have cared which colour oni are and still don’t like them and that his own childhood was, at points, pretty bad because of that. I imagine Takuya would find this sad, considering the sacrifice of the blue oni. Itto cheering him up and showing him not everybody is like that would be nice.


• I want Itto to meet Takuya’s blue oni family and help care for them. I’m sure he would keep that promise. Takuya seeing this exuberant red oni be happy at the people he loves probably only endears him more to him.


• Takuya and Itto interacting with Granny Oni, especially after she helped Takuya’s family, would also be precious.


• Then, of course, there’s Itto’s gang. Does Takuya run with them now from time to time or even become a member? He seems a bit more stable than Itto, so maybe he’d rather get a job to take care of the other blue oni. I’m sure Itto (potentially with the help of the gang) would be happy to assist him get employment with someone who doesn’t mind oni.


• Itto introducing Takuya to fun human things like card games and beetle fighting would be great. Maybe Takuya actually enjoys some of Itto’s hobbies? (Even if he ends up beating Itto because of it... Itto is still happy about it!)


• Perhaps some people really don’t like the idea of one oni (already bad) now dragging in other onis (and this one certified blue). Do they have to defend themselves against an attack?


• It’s one of those festive occasions Itto mentions for which people like to throw beans, so Takuya and him flee the city for an evening and have a nice time out in the countryside.


• Itto and Yoimiya have a rivalry, but I’m sure she’d still help Itto come up with fireworks to commemorate the meeting of Itto and Takuya, since that’s more important than play-fighting, after all! Takuya getting to visit a festival and light some special fireworks with Itto would be very nice (especially if there was a kiss under the night sky, too).


• Smut is always appreciated! They’re both strong oni, so I imagine they could accidentally break a bed or two, but on the other hand, they don’t really have to hold back with each other!

• I would love a sexy red oni/blue oni roleplay that Itto would definitely be cheesy enough to come up with. Like oh, I’ll show you some of the fun things I learned with the humans, blue oni~ (Takuya wishes he wasn’t turned on by this but alas, he’s into Itto’s... everything).


• A prompt for mpreg: turns out, some oni can get pregnant by other same-sex oni, too! Itto had not been informed of this, as he was young when his oni relatives died, and Takuya thought that Itto would have told him if he was one who could get pregnant. Now Itto is surprise pregnant. Well, he does love children! But he may be a bit nervous about whether he’s going to be able to actually raise one, or if Takuya even wants to be around to help. Takuya makes it clear he very much wants to stay with Itto and their (purple?) oni baby.


• Art: Any of the above prompts would be great! I would also like to see a picture that really goes heavy into the red oni/blue oni trope, like plays up the colours and such. It’s such a classic concept, after all! Takuya doing something with Itto in the city would be fun, even if it’s just a small thing like watching kids play or browsing the shops. I would also like to see them out in the wilderness, though, where Takuya seems to have spent most of his life and Itto at least doesn’t seem to feel uncomfortable. Since Takuya has the NPC model, I have no hopes of him becoming playable, but I would love to see the two fighting together and Takuya also having oni-styled attacks. Also, shippy stuff like kisses, hugs, smut and so on is of course always appreciated.

Kaedehara Kazuha/Kaedehara Kazuha's Friend
For simplicity’s sake, I’m going to call the friend Tomo here, but I’m totally fine with any other name as well! The story of Kazuha and his friend is so beautiful and I liked the hopeful tragedy of it, but I really wished we could have seen more of them. So this is a blatant request for pre-canon or fix-it fic! If you bring Tomo back, feel free to make it a plot point or handwave it. Celestia did it for ??? reason, somehow the spark in his vision also reignited one in his body, he was never fully dead but the Fatui stole his body to experiment on and now he’s awake and broke out, and so on, all is great. For smut, I prefer bottom Kazuha. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Kazuha. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Kazuha and alpha or beta Tomo.

• I would love to know how Kazuha and Tomo first met and what made them travel together and who Tomo is, anyway. Does he come from a similar background as Kazuha or not at all? Where did he pick up that cute cat?


• When did they realise they fell for each other? Maybe at first they were just companions keeping warm on a cold night and fooling around (no one out there in the wilderness is looking if they get a bit closer under the blanket) who eventually realised their feelings ran deeper? Or maybe (or also) they fell in love having long conversations and watching the other do good things.


• Maybe they didn’t even get along at first, but kept running into each other and slowly an understanding built between them that bloomed into friendship and more?


• Sparring match that turns smutty is always a great prompt for warrior characters.


• Though they went their separate ways, perhaps it was only supposed to be temporary. However, instead of leaving, one or both turn around because they realise that they at least have to confess their love before they part, or they notice they don’t actually want to be without their lover right now. (This might not actually change events in the end, or maybe it does, but I would love to see the two thinking they can still do the lonely samurai thing and then immediately turning on their heel when they realise they were wrong.)


• Tomo is revived through the sparking of his vision. While Traveller is busy with Raiden, Kazuha suddenly sees Tomo standing there. What happens next?


• Kazuha uses the vision and goes to bring it to Tomo’s grave afterwards (let’s assume he wasn’t burned because it was more convenient just to bury the body). Tomo sits on top of the open grave covered in dirt and looking confused.


• If Tomo was really dragged off by Fatui (or other baddies) and never fully dead, I would also love the option of him being found by Kazuha (either alone or on a mission with the Traveller) and Tomo waking up to the sight of Kazuha.


• How does Tomo react to being alive again and hearing Kazuha’s story? Were they already lovers when Tomo died or do they only confess their feelings now, having this improbable second chance?


• Perhaps Kazuha and Tomo decide that they don’t want to be parted from now on because despite what Kazuha believes, sometimes, you just don’t have the guarantee that you’ll meet again and it might not be a bad idea to spend the limited time that you get with people together with them.


• Tomo recovering his kitty would be very important, of course! Kazuha knows where it is, too.


• Beidou (and potentially the rest of the Crux crew) meeting the man whose loss had Kazuha so depressed in the beginning would be interesting; and I bet Tomo would love to get to know Kazuha’s knew friends, he seemed like a pretty lively person.


• The two of them fighting together would obviously be great. They were already a bit of a battle couple when Tomo’s vision lent Kazuha the strength to stop Raiden for a moment, but seeing them fight side by side would also be nice.


• Of course, I’m always up for smut. Whether it’s the two of them messing around in a cave during a downpour pre-Vision Hunt Decree or passionate, life-affirming sex after Tomo is improbably back from the dead or anything else, really, I would love to see it!


• Art: Any of the above prompts would be great, of course. I would really enjoy the two of them in some traditionally Japanese (well, Inazuman) landscape, with red maple leaves, maybe, or enjoying cherry blossom season, or similar types of imagery. I’d also love a picture of the two of them playing with Tomo’s cat or enjoying the fireworks of a festival in a city or village they are passing through or by. Sparring with each other or fighting as a team would look great! Also, shippy stuff like kisses, hugs, smut and so on is of course always appreciated.

Cyberpunk 2077 (Video Game)

Male V/Delamain
Okay, so a taxi service is certainly kind of a new one for me as far as characters I love go, but Delamain and his relationship with V are great. I really like his perspective on humanity and how he purposefully sought out a job where he has a lot of contact with humans and their chaos because he enjoys adapting to it, and also that he seems to have a concept of beauty and some philosophical thoughts on humanity. V also seemed quite impressed with Delamain and considering how many bad things happen around and to V, Delamain seemed like a bright spot in Night City.

From non-lethal to highly dangerous, I’m happy for any interpretation of V that’s not on the road to becoming full cyberpsycho, with any look and origin you prefer. I’m not into major character death, so if you’re setting it post-ending, it’d be great if Mr. Blue Eyes could find a way to keep V alive, or if V found a different way to cheat the 6 month time limit (this doesn’t have to be part of the story, you can just handwave it). As for Delamain, I’m happy with him being Delamain V.2 (Reset), Delamain Jr. (Merge), Excelsior (Destroy), or for V to find a way to keep Delamain V.1 intact while also releasing his other personalities, in case you’re setting it after Don’t Lose Your Mind.

I prefer Delamain to bottom, but considering his state, those roles might not even be applicable considering he doesn’t have a human body. He can get an android one, though! Or not, both is fine! The only thing I’m not really interested in is objectophilia/sex involving the cars too directly (sitting in the car to jerk off to be close to Delamain, or playfully touching or patting the cars outside of sex would be perfectly fine, though). If you wanna do A/B/O and V is an alpha or a beta who is into omegas, maybe Delamain adjusts his mechanical body accordingly to be closer to that of an omega.

• V moves heaven and earth and spends significant money and/or effort and/or resources to quickly cobble together a solution where he can preserve the original Delamain while also releasing his other personalities. Delamain is thankful, but not sure why V went through such trouble to keep him. V eventually has to admit it’s because he’s in love with Delamain.


• A V who is already flirting/FWB with Delamain (but secretly pining for more) resets the Core, but did not expect Delamain’s backup to set him back so far. He’s depressed until Delamain sends him on a mission to retrieve some data his previous version apparently considered very important. Turns out Delamain’s last act was to make a backup of all memories regarding interactions between the two of them because it was so important to him, and now Delamain can make that re-merge within himself.


• V goes for the Nomad ending and takes Excelsior or Delamain Jr. (or basically any Delamain who can be contained within one car) with him. Delamain growing into a Nomad setting with the Aldecaldos would be really fun. I’d also love the two of them just bailing from Night City and setting off on their own adventure, too.


• V lets Johnny have the body, joins Alt, and goes to find Delamain in cyberspace. Delamain helps him to become a stable presence and retain his personality.


• For the Night City Legend ending, one of the speculations is that Mr. Blue Eyes is an AI. Maybe Delamain can cajole him or steal the secret he has that might allow V to continue living, even if Mr. Blue Eyes doesn’t end up holding up his end of the bargain. Alternatively, Delamain hits up his own AI contacts and finds his own solution. Is that when V realises Delamain likes him a lot? Or are they already together?


• Maybe V tends to be closed off from others after losing Jackie, but once he gets his Delamain taxi after Don’t Lose Your Mind, he gets in the habit of talking to Delamain and starts to build a relationship.


• However, I also kind of like the opposite idea, where he’s more social and starts to introduce Delamain to Viktor and Misty and Judy and/or whoever else he’s friends with in that playthrough and Delamain learns, through V, to have friends, too. How do their friends react to V’s and Delamain’s relationship if/when they find out?


• For that matter, what does Johnny think about V falling in love with a whole-ass taxi service?


• I want V to cause devastation to his enemies with the Delamain combat function at least once more. I was so sad the taxi you get doesn’t have them anymore! Maybe a scene of that?


• The Night City Legend ending seems to indicate that the split-off Delamain goes back to running his taxi service (you do get in a Delamain AV), which makes sense, since he seemed to enjoy it. However, I’d also love to see V help Delamain explore other parts of humanity, maybe a hobby? Maybe Delamain, being into beauty, could like art? Or maybe Delamain only plays taxi for V alone at this point and has a whole different occupation?


• I also think V wouldn’t necessarily have to drive his Delamain by himself (I mean... it’s a taxi! And Excelsior will eventually figure out how to drive, too, I’m sure). The two of them having a slow cruise through the city and V enjoying the sights while chatting with Delamain on autopilot would be great.


• I’m not really into objectophilia, so I’d prefer if V wasn’t sexually attracted to the cars/having exhaust pipe sex or anything, but I could see the cars or building being part of their sex life? Maybe V likes to jerk off sitting in the Delamain car(s) (or in the AV) or inside the HQ/core room just because he feels closer to Delamain that way. Maybe Delamain helps along with dirty talk, too?


• Maybe Delamain can experience sexual pleasure, but it’s a bit different than with humans. Luckily, V happens to be a techie, gets himself a good cyberdeck and figures out exactly how to press Delamain’s buttons. I could also see V meeting Delamain in cyberspace and the two of them having weird but very fun code-sex there.


• So V has been through hell and back and yeah, he’d like to have sex, but he’s really just happy that someone in this weird city earnestly loves him, even if it’s an AI, and if sex is not in the cards, whatever. Then Delamain gets an android body to surprise him. The body could have a biologically male configuration or also have a vagina or be able to switch if Delamain guesses V might be into that. I’d love it if the body looked a bit like Delamain’s visual representation, too.


• As with the prompt above, Delamain gets an android body. Maybe before this, Delamain had no way to experience sexual pleasure, but this body has functionality that mimics this, and it’s quite overwhelming at first. V loves to experiment with it and show him all the fun things organics can do.


• Delamain plans to get an android body and since it’s mostly just for interacting with V and Delamain has no strong opinions on it, he involves V in the planning of what it’s supposed to look like/which genitalia he’d prefer etc. V finds this kind of weird at first, but also kind of sweet.


• For Art: Any of the above prompts would be great, of course. I’d also really like a picture of V just hanging around in the HQ or Core or in a Delamain cab, relaxing for once. V sitting on the hood of a Delamain car or leaning on its roof would be nice picture. I’d also love V talking to Delamain on a screen. If you want to go with an android body, V and Delamain, but this time with more than just head and shoulders, would be great to see together. I’d also love to see Delamain’s tarot – whatever tarot card you think would match him – together with V’s Fool, or alternatively with one of the tarot cards that represent V’s endings, or just generally tarot motives in a picture of them.

Sandayu Oda/Goro Takemura
Takemura was one of my favourite side characters in this game and we didn’t see much of Oda, but I really enjoyed what we got. Though the dignified middle-aged bodyguard in the pretty suit and the cyberninja with the 2004 jrock hairdo and combat gear are quite the stark contrast, their attitudes are plainly very similar. Their backstory is great, too – that at some point Takemura started being a mentor to Oda, probably when it became clear he was destined for a higher position at Arasaka, and that their relationship then developed into a friendship that lasted for a quite a while before the beginning of the game. The push and pull of that friendship against the intense sense of duty these two have was great to watch. Since I don’t like major character death, I’d like both Takemura and Oda to survive (actually possible!). I’d also prefer if Oda were at least 20 when they first start to get to know each other. I prefer bottom Takemura for smut. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Takemura. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Takemura and alpha or beta Oda.

• I would love for Takemura to visit Oda when Oda is recovering from the boss fight. Takemura is probably pretty beat up himself from the ambush on the hotel. Maybe Hanako keeps them stashed away together to keep both their survival secret from her brother? It would be interesting if after this dramatic time they lived through, the two discover their shared romantic feelings. However, I’m also totally here for established relationship – I think things could pretty much have gone down the exact same way even if they were lovers, since they’re both so dutiful.


• The two of them sparring would be great! It’s said that everything Oda knows he learned from Takemura. I just gotta know: can Takemura go cyberninja, too, and has just opted for a different fighting style? Whether he does or whether he has learned to take on Oda through other means, I’m here for it. I'd also love to see them practice sword-fighting if you want to go for something with weapons. Which one wins? Is there maybe a private wager, a “prize” to claim?


• Takemura and Oda both seem like guys who take their jobs seriously and are pretty much married to them, so how does their friendship tilt into romance? Waiting outside a meeting between Hanako and Saburo? Sharing a hotel room between Hanako’s and Saburo’s rooms because it’s just the best place for them to guard both of them? Double missions? Training session? Just on small breaks enjoying good food? All of it somehow cumulating?


• I imagine Takemura and Oda would feel they’d eventually have to reveal a steady relationship to their bosses (could be a security risk, after all!). What do they think? Or maybe someone else saw something and they’re being asked to explain themselves, forcing them to put words on it for the first time?


• I always love FWB to lovers with lots of pining in the middle, so that would also be great.


• Generally, I’d love to see prequel stuff, from when Takemura was still somewhat more Oda’s mentor to when they were friends on equal footing and probably felt like the only people who could really understand each other due to their similar positions.


• The two of them fighting together! Maybe Militech or another rival company is hitting Arasaka and they have to get their charges out of there in one piece, or launch a counter-attack.


• For established relationship, I’d love to see little details: how a rare lazy morning goes, if they have quirks the other rolls their eyes at (maybe Oda enjoys the substandard food that Takemura hates?), moments of gentleness when one gets hurt, etc.


• Takemura talks about cooking in the game once, so apparently that's a skill he has? I'd love to see him cook for Oda.


• In one of the endings where Arasaka struggles, maybe Takemura and Oda are fucked over somehow, as corpos are wont to do, and have to flee to survive. Old dog Takemura might feel like his life is really over now, but Oda could have enough enthusiasm (or spite) left to continue. Oda learning to fight without his Arasaka implants, the two of them joining the nomads as Takemura says he might have liked to do, and/or them generally starting a new life together would be awesome.


• As above, but it's only one of them about to be taken out. However, unlike the situation in the game, it is massively clear that the person is being targeted for company politics reasons and they realise that Arasaka is nowhere near as loyal to them as they are to it. The one who wasn't targeted then decides (possible after much angst and deliberation) that they will be loyal to the other instead of Arasaka and they escape together (would also work well with established relationship).


• Smut would always be great. Are any of those fancy Arasaka implants put to good (if potentially unintended) use? Do they have some uninterrupted alone time or is it a quickie between obligations?


• I love younger Dom/older sub, so if you’re in the mood to write BDSM, that would be great. I could imagine that maybe Takemura hasn’t trusted anyone to Dom him, at least not in a long while, since he can’t chance being incapacitated – but for Oda he makes an exception. Or maybe Oda is the one who brings it up and Takemura makes the decision that he’s going to try it because it’s Oda and then he actually finds he enjoys subbing.


• Related to the BDSM prompt, experienced sub/inexperienced but enthusiastic Dom is also always great. They did say Takemura taught Oda everything he knows... so whether it’s them just starting out or Oda eventually ‘surpassing the master’ and finding something to surprise Takemura with, either would be great.


• For Art: Any of the above prompts would be awesome, of course. As I said in my little intro, I just really like their visual contrast, so I’d love any and all shippy pics with them. Alternatively, a picture where they're both in suits, like the first time we see Oda, would also be great. Oda “pinning” Takemura with his mantis blades during a sparring session (not literally, but maybe ramming it in the ground/wall next to his head), or Takemura kicking his feet out under him or getting one over on him (despite the mantis blades) would be fun. I’d also like to see them undressed, for smutty purposes or just showering together/in bed because I’d really like to see the modifications on the rest of their bodies – they looks pretty heavy from the neck up. Also, even though they’re such hardened soldiers, I’d love to see a picture that’s just them doing couple things: having fancy food together, kissing, hugging, and so on. If you like to have fun with styles, I do love the tarot cards, so I'd also like to see what tarot cards Takemura and Oda might match and maybe a picture of those cards or the characters on those cards together? I'd also generally enjoy tarot motives in a picture of them.

Mass Effect Trilogy

Male Shepard/Javik
Javik is possibly my favourite companion in ME3 and I love his interactions with Shepard. He’s so abrasive, but the longer you talk to him, the more you realise that the glorious Prothean empire they taught them about when he was born was really already a long lost memory in ruins and he lived his whole life in a total dystopian nightmare, only to wake up to the next apocalypse. I like Default Shepard just fine, but feel free to make him look different and give him a different first name. Paragon, Renegade or Paragade/Renegon (mix-and-match choices) all work, too, though I wouldn’t want a Shepard who is totally irredeemable. I also like Javik having touched the Echo Shard, but would not want him to go through with his plans to kill himself (but feel free to have him stop at the last possible moment). As for the Endings… whichever one you want, as long as Shepard lives somehow, really! I’m not a fan of any of them and I’d also be totally fine with an AU ending or with the Crucible just being a big Reaper-targeting gun. For smut, I prefer bottom Javik. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Javik. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Javik and alpha or beta Shepard (scenarios where only one species has A/B/O or they have A/B/O systems that aren’t completely the same are also fun!).

• I would love for Javik and Shepard to still be out there helping people after the end of the Reaper war. Javik doesn’t really have a place in the new world yet except at Shepard’s side – and him realising that his place being there is true in many ways would be great.


• Javik and Shepard fighting together and being big damn heroes. That’s it, that’s the prompt. Would especially love it if they had complimentary skills, like perhaps a soldier or vanguard Shepard who makes use of the biotic setups that Javik can create, or whatever else you can think of.


• Was there even time for something like romance back in Javik’s day? Or was it all forbidden by their multitude of strict rules to keep people focused? Did people do it anyway? Whether Javik ever had a real boyfriend or not, the man’s definitely dead now (and considering probability, may actually have been one of the indoctrinated people from his ship that Javik was forced to kill). With all that in mind, how does he go about starting a relationship with Shepard?


• What about Shepard? Did he have any romantic entanglements? Maybe he’s just over that break-up with Kaidan or Ashley in ME2 (other former romances are totally fine, too, though), or swore off relationships a while ago for some other reason, and now there’s Javik and suddenly, on the eve of the apocalypse, Shepard wants more.


• Shepard is interested in Javik, but there is an extinction event going on and they’re both twelve flavours of traumatised. But when Shepard recovers after the Crucible incident, suddenly him and Javik have some time and get closer.


• Javik and Shepard tell themselves and each other the fact that they keep falling into bed together is just them letting off steam. It’s definitely more.


• Paragon Shepard (or hell, maybe even Renegade Shepard!) enjoys cuddling, hugging, physical affection in general. Javik needs a little while to get used to it, but finds he’s just as touch-starved as Shepard and really loves it, to his own embarrassment.


• Maybe Javik is the one who is unexpectedly touchy-feely with a partner – after all, Protheans communicate and read through touch. Shepard didn’t think he’d be into it, but he actually totally is.


• Generally, I’d prefer for Javik to have genitalia that is somewhat comparable to humans, whether he's biologically male or intersex. I don’t think it was ever said how Protheans procreate, or how many sexes/genders they had, aside from like one line from Javik that may or may not have been another weird Prothean joke. Three or more sexes/genders or just one, like the asari, could also be options, after all. Javik and Shepard intimately exploring each other would be a lot of fun either way.


• Javik had his trysts with half-opened armour on some military cots back in the day and that’s probably how it went with Shepard at the start, too. It’s really the only sort of sex he knows. Now, after the war, they suddenly have time. Cue Javik getting really flustered/insanely turned on/probably falling even harder (or all of the above) when Shepard decides to spend an evening going really thorough and slow.


• How does the Prothean touch-reading thing work with sex? Maybe Javik is unfailingly good at predicting what Shepard wants him to do in the moment? Maybe Shepard asks Javik to be as vocal as possible to pay him back in kind, since he can’t do the same for Javik?


• Shepard is suffering from PTSD in ME3. Maybe Javik notices through his touch-reading or just context clues and surprisingly turns out to be quite helpful? He must have some strategies to handle it, considering, well, his entire life. Maybe they can also heal together.


• Javik gets hurt on the battlefield, but fights on. This is pretty normal to him as they didn’t have much time for any not totally necessary medical treatment back in his day. To his surprise, after the mission is over, Shepard sits him down in the shuttle (or wherever) for some first aid to hold him over until he can get to an actual doctor. Javik probably gripes that it’s a waste of time/resources, but boy does it not help his crush on Shepard.


• Javik bodyblocking for Shepard or otherwise saving him at the risk of his own health. It’s totally just because Shepard is the avatar of this cycle and not because Javik has a big crush on him.


• If Shepard has one of the firmer personality types (Renegon, Renegade, or even an outspoken Paragon) I could see him and Javik clash often at the start. Their frequent arguments lead to them getting to know each other, though, and they find they have common ground as well.


• The Crucible really is a straight-forward Reaper-killer weapon and the destiny-choice machine was an indoctrination hallucination. Shepard fights through it and uses the weapon and then meets Javik again (maybe collecting a traditional hero’s reward in the form of a kiss?).


• If Javik touches the Shard, he will want to kill himself to be with his crew. I would love for Shepard to either talk him out of it or become the person Javik wants to live for (not the most psychologically healthy thing, maybe, but let’s face it, the bar is low for Javik), and maybe from there Javik can go on to establish a real foothold in the new cycle, too.


• Shepard and Javik building a new life for each other after the war and getting used to peace (something which Javik has never actually seen before and Shepard hasn’t experienced in a while), whether that be on a Spectre ship or in a house on a quiet farming colony.


• Spacer Shepard introduces Javik to his mother (and father if he’s around).


• Shepard and Javik adopting some war orphans and perhaps settling down after the war would be cute. Also, in case you want to go for mpreg, maybe Protheans can get pregnant by any species, like the asari. Shepard is eager to help Javik repopulate the Prothean race (Javik being mpregnant the mammal way or laying eggs both seem equally likely here).


• For Art: An illustration of any of the above prompts would be amazing. Fight scenes would be great, as would be seeing them just chilling together – cuddling up as they sleep (not that they’d admit it), Shepard helping Javik explore the new cycle, watching the stars, maybe visiting the Citadel or some garden colony world or Shepard’s home together (whether that’s where he grew up or some other place with significance for him). I’d also love a picture that shows some small, gentle gesture of affection between them, even as they are both hardened warriors. Them exploring an old Prothean ruin would be interesting, too. I’d also love a picture of them both undressed (not necessarily smut, though I’m not saying no!), contrasting their bodies. What does Javik look like underneath the armour? Does he have wings like some of the collectors?

Original Male Character/Javik
Javik is possibly my favourite companion in ME3. He’s so abrasive, but the longer you talk to him, the more you realise that the glorious Prothean empire they taught them about when he was born was really already a long lost memory in ruins and he lived his whole life in a total dystopian nightmare, only to wake up to the next apocalypse. I’d love for him to get a partner with whom he can experience this new cycle. For decisions in the game, I also like Javik having touched the Echo Shard, but would not want him to go through with his plans to kill himself (but feel free to have him stop at the last possible moment). As for the Endings… whichever one you want! I’m not attached to any of them and I’d also be totally fine with modified endings or with the blunt idea of the Crucible just being a big Reaper-targeting gun, if that suits your story better. I am fond of Shepard surviving, but it’s not a must. For smut, I prefer bottom Javik. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Javik. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Javik and alpha or beta OMC (scenarios where only one species has A/B/O or they have A/B/O systems that aren’t completely the same are also fun!).

• Maybe Javik starts dating an OMC who travels with Shepard (either ship maintenance or an OMC companion). If so, that relationship could be developing during ME3. Perhaps they fall into bed together and are immediately head over heels, or maybe it’s something that develops from FWB to something more romantic? Perhaps it’s also a slower, more careful approach that directly blossoms into romance.


• A male drell would be an interesting choice for Javik, especially if they follow the religion of the Enkindlers. Hell, if you can make it non-crackfic, I would also love to see him with a hanar (though I know they’re genderless, so not male, but definitely consider them an exception to the category).


• I could see Javik getting along with krogans (for the battle-ready nature) or turians (for their duty to their state) very well. The quarians pretty much always need all the help they can get, so maybe he ends up with them for some reason and meets a male quarian who interests him. And though he’s suspicious of AIs, perhaps he starts taking an interest in a specific geth unit (another exception to the male category, since they’re genderless, but the Reaper code changed them, so perhaps this unit considers himself male, but it’s not necessary). Then, of course, there are humans. If Javik is stranded on Earth for a bit after the war, there’ll be an abundance of those taking an interest in him.


• Fleshing out the Multiplayer Classes into characters is great, too. We only have their little wiki descriptions, but I’d also be happy for someone who doesn’t match them at all and found his way to the frontlines a different way. Who of that group might appeal to Javik and vice versa? How does he get to know them better? (This group also includes the Awakened Collector Adept, which could be interesting for obvious reasons. I have some prompts for that specific scenario here, if you want some ideas!).


• His boyfriend talking Javik out of killing himself to join his dead crew would be very appreciated. Similarly, Javik being quietly influenced to not do it by this new relationship and only revealing what he had originally planned later would also be interesting.


• Now that the fighting is over, where does Javik go? He doesn’t have a home, probably not even any money. Maybe he can join one of the militaries, perhaps the one his boyfriend belongs to? Or maybe he really wants to do anything else but fighting so he takes another job and meets his boyfriend there, or his boyfriend invites him to live with him. If his boyfriend is someone with their own ship, maybe that’s where he goes?


• How does Javik settle into a world after war? He only knows peace from echo shards. It’s going to be difficult to handle. And what about his boyfriend? How much combat has he seen, what has he lost? Can they lean on each other for this?


• Javik not knowing what to do with himself and helping with the rebuilding somewhere and meeting a random civilian and falling for them would be a sweet twist, too.


• Maybe, when the galaxy has stabilised a little, his boyfriend can take him sightseeing to one of the major worlds or a place that is special to him.


• Has Javik ever been on a date? Was that a thing Protheans did? Was it something they used to do, but didn’t when he lived because wasn’t the time or opportunity anymore? Javik getting to go on a normal date with drinks and a movie or something would be fun.


• Different cultural courting strategies!


• I feel like a species who communicates so much through touch could like cuddling/hugging/general contact. Now, Javik probably wouldn’t admit that, but him latching on to a boyfriend, or his boyfriend figuring out how touch-starved he is and helping out, would be very sweet.


• For Art: An illustration of any of the above prompts would be great. I also like Javik’s design a lot and would love to see him out of armour – not for smut, necessarily, but I’m not saying no! Does he have wings like some of the Collectors? Also, Javik will eventually need to find a set of clothes that is not a bulky armour. Maybe he steals some from his boyfriend? He has a humanoid build, so it might work. Generally, I just want to see him and his boyfriend having a reason to switch into civvies, though. Generally, Javik and his boyfriend visiting the planets of the new species, maybe trying the food, seeing the sights? Or his boyfriend bringing him to a Prothean ruin? Or the boyfriend’s own home? Also would love fluff of the ‘Protheans are touchy-feely’ variety – maybe Javik is a cuddly sleeper?

Mass Effect: Andromeda

Jaal Ama Darav/Evfra de Tershaav
I always thought these two would make a sweet couple. Jaal is very much the quintessential angara with his emotional honesty, whereas Evfra seems unusually closed-off for his kind. Opposites attract! However, they also have a lot of ambitions and skills in common, both being passionate fighters for the freedom of their people. There’s also this conversation (with timestamp at 1:47) of Jaal praising Evfra to Drack, which just sounds like he may have a crush. Whether it’s set before, during, or after the game, it’s all great. For smut, I prefer bottom Evfra. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Evfra. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Evfra and alpha or beta Jaal.

• Evfra obviously can’t be on the frontlines all that often since he’s running the Resistance, but we do see that he goes out to fight sometimes, like at the end of the game, and he’s known for being good at it. Jaal and him kicking some ass together would be great.


• Evfra and Jaal going out to some of the planets the new map established and finding old angaran worlds would be cool. Or maybe Jaal just taking him to an especially beautiful, newly rediscovered place! It would be very nice for Evfra to get out a little.


• The angara pushing the kett back in some place and Jaal, who helps at the front lines with Evfra, proving to Evfra how much he has learned in his time with the Pathfinder (and making Evfra’s crush on him that much worse).


• Jaal being with the Pathfinder will obviously make Evfra pay more attention to him. He always figured that he was a very capable soldier (he even calls him his best in one conversation in the game), but now Jaal is showing other talents, too. Naturally, Evfra starts to work more closely with him and suddenly they spend time together...


• Evfra is well aware Jaal has a crush on him, but he’s likely at least 10 years older and has a lot of baggage, so he doesn’t think he’s the right person for Jaal. However, Jaal is persistent and charming and talented and Evfra isn’t made of stone, no matter what people say.


• Evfra has a bit of a crush on Jaal that he’s not going to tell anyone about, ever, counter to how angara usually act (and perhaps also for the reasons stated in the prompt above). Jaal finds out somehow, anyway, and is quite intrigued.


• Evfra and Jaal, true to the angaran habit of emotional honesty, start sleeping together to let off steam. But what happens when they start pining? Because Evfra might not be so honest about that and Jaal might think it means he’s not interested... how do they manage to get together?


• Angara are wild about family, so I’d love Jaal and Evfra tentatively thinking in that direction if they have been together for a while. There are probably lots of orphans around and I’d love the option of adoption (maybe one kid started following Evfra or Jaal around?), but maybe some angaran males can also get pregnant? Being mpregnant might not help Evfra’s mood, but building a life with Jaal sure would.


• If they’re together before the Pathfinder mission starts (or just sleeping together, but realising how much they miss each other being separated this much), I would love to read about their brief but surely passionate meetings whenever Jaal is back on Aya.


• Evfra is a fairly severe and headstrong guy and maybe Jaal thinks Evfra wants to top and thus leaves that spot to him – which Evfra doesn’t mind at all. He’d just also like for Jaal to fuck him, but it doesn’t seem like Jaal is interested and surely someone like Jaal would tell him, since he’s so open about everything else. Jaal is maybe just suffering from a bit of timidity in front of the leader of the Resistance, or thinking that since Evfra very rarely speaks about what he wants or likes, he should go by his best guess. He in fact would very much like to top Evfra. Can they figure it out?


• I’d love for them to do something light-hearted, like explore a kink together (although if you want some inner conflict, maybe it’s a kink one of them is ashamed about – my go-to suggestion is Evfra wanting to sub or Jaal wanting to Dom and wondering what the other would make of that, but feel free to go for something totally different, too!).


• Jaal finds out that Evfra used to sub to his late husband (and/or perhaps to others) and is very interested. Evfra eventually agrees to teach him. Basically, I really like experienced sub/newbie Dom, so, this is that!


• Evfra may have lost a husband (and perhaps even children) with that family the kett stole from him. I could see Jaal being the first person who reawakens the desire to have a lover and/or a family again. How does he deal with it?


• Jaal is still somewhat unsure of his way in life when he goes with the Pathfinder. I’d love it if becoming more secure in his role also led him to realise he wants to take a shot at dating Evfra (and if Evfra finds this new confidence low-key quite attractive).


• Jaal introducing Evfra to his big family as his boyfriend. Obviously, every angara knows who Evfra is and Jaal even has family in the Resistance, but this would be a very different context. How does Evfra deal with suddenly being swept up in a typical giant angaran family again after shutting himself off for so long after losing his own?


• Jaal and Evfra writing messages and e-mails while Jaal is with the Pathfinder, chatting, videochatting, just having a budding (or established) long-distance relationship.


• Both Jaal and Evfra worked themselves ragged lately. Maybe they get to take a few days off together after the kett have been pushed back?


• Whatever the angaran equivalent of a marriage proposal is! That, and the build-up towards it/what happens afterwards would be awesome.


• For Art: Any of the above prompts would be great, of course. I really like the design of the angara, so seeing the two of them together would just be neat. The two of them working together on something Resistance-related or fighting side by side sounds awesome. I’d also like to see them relaxing, though: Evfra napping against Jaal’s shoulder because he just pulled a 48 hour shift at Resistance HQ; Jaal covering Evfra’s entire bedroom floor in weapon parts while Evfra is watching him while working from the bed; the two of them on one of the old or newly discovered angaran homeworlds or colonies (they’re all so pretty in their own ways).

Original Male Character/Evfra de Tershaav
Evfra is my favourite character in this game. I thoroughly enjoy how gruff he is and that his guarded personality makes him such an outlier amongst the angara. Yet, the man has dedicated his life to helping his people, shouldered a lot of responsibility, and the few times you manage to dig a little deeper in his dialogue, it’s clear that he cares about them and even starts to accept the outsiders once they have proven themselves. Please give this grumpy guy with the good heart a boyfriend! For smut, I prefer bottom Evfra. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Evfra. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Evfra and alpha or beta OMC (scenarios where only one species has A/B/O or they have A/B/O systems that aren’t completely the same are also fun!). There are some ideas for the OMC below, but feel free to go wild as long as the character isn’t related to Evfra and isn’t underage.

• Evfra is not the most approachable person and people greatly respect, and, as the game suggests, often even fear him. How does the OMC break through his tough shell?


• Or maybe, unexpectedly, Evfra has been in a relationship with someone for a while now, but never really made it public? Would love to see everybody’s reactions when it eventually becomes clear.


• Evfra lost his whole family – perhaps also a husband? It’s very unlikely, but maybe, through some great stroke of luck, that husband is still alive all those years later? But I’m sure this much time in a kett labour camp would have changed him and Evfra must be a much different person now, too, having worked his way up from what seems to have been obscurity to the leader of the Resistance. I would love to see them rekindling their relationship. (If they had other partners in the time in between, thinking the other was dead, I’d like for those not to have been serious relationships.)


• Probably to Evfra’s own surprise, it’s one of the alien newcomers who manages to win his heart. Is it a contact he knows from Kadara or someone else he gets to know on the Nexus?


• However, I'd also love to see an angara as the OMC. Is it a Resistance member, a politician, a random civilian, or maybe even an angara from a newly discovered world which was up to now cut off from the others?


• Evfra enters a political marriage with someone from an important family and figures it will never be more than a marriage of convenience, but then the two actually fall in love.


• Fleshing out the Multiplayer Classes into characters is also always fun. We only have their little wiki descriptions and a handful of voicelines. Who of that group might appeal to Evfra and vice versa? How does he get to know them better? In-game, they were APEX strike teams, but there were angaran characters, too, like the Insurgent and Exemplar. However, I’m also open to a completely original APEX guy.


• I enjoy battle couples, or couples who otherwise work well together in some capacity if your chosen boyfriend for him isn’t into fighting.


• However, I’d also enjoy Evfra getting to take a bit of time off for once with his lover. What do they do to relax?


• Evfra and his boyfriend exploring one of the new places discovered through Meridian.


• Evfra working hard and falling sick/growing exhausted and his lover ushering him home and making him rest; and if Evfra’s sick, it would be sweet if his lover hung around to care for him even with the angaran taboos around talking about sickness.


• Evfra probably hasn’t been on an actual date in ages. I would love for someone to take him out to have a drink or private dinner or maybe watch a movie, just some normal stuff that Evfra probably did in the past but has basically forgotten about by this time.


• Someone is openly flirting with Evfra, which throws him off a little. He’s not exactly opening himself up for contact, after all. Still, we see Evfra doing well with people who put it out there (when the Pathfinder tells him the reason he should let them help is that they get things done, he says “Bold. A little arrogant. Like me.” and doesn’t seem annoyed by it). Maybe he actually agrees to a date, if only to test if the guy means it? And he does.


• Evfra likes karaoke. This is actually canon (well, if Liam’s intel is good, anyway). Maybe his crush/boyfriend can coax him into leaving work be for a while and singing a few songs? Is there a lover’s duet? I don't even mean this in a crackfic way, I just want Evfra to get to have a little fun.


• For Art: Any of the above scenarios would be great. I love the design of the angara in general and Evfra in particular, so chances are I’m already happy about any picture where Evfra appears. I would love to see a picture showing a small gesture of affection between his boyfriend and him – or, if his boyfriend is more obvious about his feelings, maybe a big one, like Evfra getting stealth-hugged from behind. I would also love to see Evfra and his lover on the boyfriend’s home-world, whichever one of the three you want to give him, on the Nexus or in the Andromeda Initiative colonies if his boyfriend is not angaran, or generally in some lush newly discovered place. I’m also very into battle couples, so if his boyfriend is someone who fights, too, that would be a great picture. On the other hand, I would also like to see Evfra relax, so him sleeping against his boyfriend’s shoulder or just hanging out with him half-dressed in bed or eating breakfast or at a bar would be sweet.

SK8 the Infinity

Sakurayashiki Kaoru/Nanjo Kojiro
They’re like cat and dog and fight all the time, and yet you can immediately sense how important they are to each other. Whether you want to write them as long-term boyfriends or friends who have been pining for ages and only now figure it out, I’m happy about either. Fic set before, during, or after the show is all great. I’d prefer fic of them as adults, but prequel fic of them at school is also an option, though I’d like both of them to be at least eighteen years old if you’re going for smut. Flashbacks are always cool, though! I’d also be very interested in fic that happens in the years between them graduating school and being in the obviously quite established professional positions they are in during the show. For smut, I prefer bottom Kojiro. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Kojiro. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Kojiro and alpha or beta Kaoru.

• As I said, I’d be really interested in the period just after school. I guess Kojiro would have gone to Italy for a while at some point. Where they already a couple then? Did they do long-distance? Or maybe this is how they found out that being apart causes them to pine very hard and that maybe their feelings weren’t that platonic.


• Kaoru just standing on Kojiro’s doorstep in Italy one day because either he couldn’t bear to not see him for as long as they had originally planned, or because he realised Kojiro sounded off and just decided to deal with it directly instead of listening to Kojiro tell him it’s fine over the phone all the time.


• Maybe Kojiro moved to wherever Kaoru was studying after Italy? I would love to see them in Tokyo or wherever else. Are Kaoru’s new friends from university surprised to meet Kojiro (Kaoru would probably be hanging with artist and talented computer specialists like himself)? Does Kojiro wonder if Kaoru may have aged out of their friendship/relationship, now that he’s left his delinquent days behind him? Would be happy for Kojiro to be wrong about that, though.


• Past Kaoru/Ainosuke is also always interesting to include! Maybe Kaoru left or rejected Kojiro for Ainosuke, so Kojiro figures he’s definitely not interesting enough to ever get in a relationship with him or Kaoru would have chosen him when he offered, right? Meanwhile, Kaoru did fall in love with him later, but isn’t sure how to approach the topic now.


• It looks like Kojiro may be seriously looking into dating instead of just flirting and hooking up. Kaoru realises he’s very not okay with it. That, or he sees him making out with a man and suddenly realises that that’s apparently an option for Kojiro, which makes his crush a lot less comfortably impossible.


• We already got quite a bit of Kaoru hurt/comfort in the series, so I wonder what Kaoru would do if Kojiro got hurt? He doesn’t seem like the most outwardly caring type, lol, but I feel like he would definitely help Kojiro, even if he’s still insulting him (and also, if it was really serious, he’s also very much a competent enough person to make sure Kojiro is safe and in good hands, of course). Kojiro might try to make light of it, but that only makes Kaoru more determined to keep him in the bed.


• Ridiculous bets for beefs! Maybe they somehow argue each other into skating for a kiss, or an open-ended “doing anything the winner wants to do for a day” type of thing.


• Generally,skateboarding! I would love to see the two have fun together, talk shop, fight about traditional boards vs. whatever Kaoru did to his board and practice together.


• They seem to go on vacation together a lot, too. The two of them having a romantic getaway (even if it was maybe planned as a platonic one) somewhere would be cool. Maybe they get to enjoy the hot springs this time without being attacked by mud monsters? Or they’re somewhere entirely different having fun exploring together.


• Kojiro cooking for Kaoru is always great, too. Does he try out new recipes on him? I’d also love a slightly sick or unhappy Kaoru trying to coax him into getting comfort food (and succeeding, even if Kojiro might tease).


• Smut is always fun! Are they each other’s first? I would definitely love to see some fumbling when they’re just out of high school or so. It probably has room for improvement, but they’re having fun. However, I can also see these two spend literal years pining and by the time they get together, they’ve both made their experiences and can blow each other’s mind.


• For a more specific smut prompt, perhaps Kojiro has never bottomed before (either not with other men, or, if this is an established relationship, not with Kaoru, either), but he’s starting to get curious. Does he bring it up or does it take Kaoru noticing something is up and wringing it out of him? Or maybe Kaoru is the one who wants to top for a change and Kojiro is sceptical he will enjoy it, but think he’ll do it because he wants to make his boyfriend happy, only to really get into it.


• For Art: Any of the above prompts would be fun, of course! I would love to see them together in their “S” outfits on their skateboards, or drinking at Kojiro’s place in their “civilian” outfits. I would also like to see them both in traditional clothing at a festival (and yes, kissing under the fireworks would be cute, even if it’s cliché). The two of them stretching out in bed on a lazy morning would be cool (and if you want to draw explicit, using the bed for other purposes also would be), but the two of them stealing kisses between appointments/shifts in their busy daily lives, somewhere on the doorstep of one of their places or Kojiro’s restaurant, would be sweet, too. Kojiro cooking for Kaoru while he’s hanging out in the kitchen also sounds great.

Original Male Character/Nanjo Kojiro | Joe
I liked Kojiro from the start with his confident, friendly attitude and sunny smile and I would really like to see him bounce off all manner of other characters in a relationship. I’d be very happy with a complete OMC or an ascended extra, meaning some background character without a line from “S”, or from some other background shot that you thought included a cool character design. Generally, I’d just want the OMC not to be underage and I’d want him not to be related to Kojiro. Generally, I prefer fic set when Kojiro is an adult (whether at the time of the show, or before, or after) to high school-age fic, but flashbacks to school are totally fine. For smut, I prefer bottom Kojiro. For mpreg, I like pregnant Kojiro. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Kojiro and alpha or beta OMC.

• Someone from “S” would be very interesting, of course. Maybe it’s someone who feels like he has to impress Kojiro with his skill and actually manages to? Or it’s someone who doesn’t quite have the skill/talent to pull it off (in general, or maybe just not yet) and ends up hurting himself, but does get Kojiro’s attention because he helps him to the hospital/patches him up, so it sort of kinda worked, even if the outcome includes bruised pride.


• However, I’d also find it fun if he dates someone who doesn’t have anything to do with skating. Maybe it’s another chef? It seems his restaurant could be popular with businessmen, so maybe one of them keeps coming for more than the pizza? Or it’s a friends-with-benefits thing that turns into more, or a meet-cute with a neighbour?


• I’m also always a sucker for love interests returning and people rekindling old relationships after years apart and falling in love all over again. Maybe during his time training in Italy or going to culinary school in wherever he went, Kojiro had a passionate romance with someone local, but they broke up when Kojiro had to return home or for some other reason. Then, years later, the OMC moves to Okinawa for work/family reasons and the two run into each other again.


• Since I’m a bara fan, it would be fun for Kojiro to meet someone who has a frame similar to his own or even bigger (the latter probably not being something he sees very often). However, I also enjoy shorter/leaner tops a lot, so generally and especially if you plan to write something that involves smut with an OMC, I’d be 100% down for a smaller guy, too (in general, size differences, be they of build or height, are always great).


• Speaking of smut, that’s also something I would love to see explored! Anything relating to my general smut likes would be fun. For Kojiro, I’d also enjoy a story about him bottoming for the first time – maybe he hasn’t done it before because he’s never been with a man, maybe he was just never approached that way because people have him pegged as a top but he’s always wanted to give it a try, or maybe he’s a bit insecure about wanting it or didn’t think he would like it and his boyfriend is the one to show him that it can be fun.


• This is a very simple prompt, but Kojiro cooking for his lover would always be appreciated.


• For any serious lover Kojiro has, I’m sure Kaoru would run a pretty thorough evaluation, even if he pretends not to care who his best friend is dating. Some poor OMC being subjected to that would be very fun. If this is set after the series, the others of the ragtag group might want to be introduced, too – even Ainosuke if he somehow becomes part of the gang. I’m sure that, especially to an outsider who didn’t know of “S” until now, Kojiro’s friend circle could be A Lot (but maybe his boyfriend finds a way to fit in).


• Speaking of dating men, we don’t see Kojiro doing that in the show. Is he aware that he’s bisexual and has dated/slept with men? Does he know he likes men, but for one reason or another never did anything about it, or is it something he’s always sort of pushed away? I’m fine with internalised homophobia here, though I wouldn’t want him portrayed as abusive towards other LBGT+ people, just maybe not quite at peace with himself yet and working on that.


• For Art: Any of the above prompts would be great. If Kojiro’s boyfriend skates, I would love to see the two of them in their “S” outfits or just in a skate park. If he doesn’t, maybe the boyfriend still likes to watch Kojiro? Kojiro sharing a meal with his boyfriend that he cooked for him, or having him taste some of his food, would also be great. I’d also like to see them hanging out at the beach, at an onsen, or at a bar, or otherwise having a good time. Seeing Kojiro in traditional Japanese clothing or in a nice suit with his boyfriend dressed to match, or admiring Kojiro, would be fun, too.

Song Lan/Xiao Xingchen
So canon did not go very well for these two, to put it mildly, and as beautiful as the Yi City arc was, I really just want a little happiness for them. Obviously, fix-it fic would be extremely appreciated here, but if you’d rather delve into their relationship before tragedy struck, that would also be very interesting. I really enjoyed their idea of wanting to create a sect that does not rely on bloodlines and generally would love to hear about them night-hunting together and see more of how they acted around other people to get the reputations they have (bright moon, gentle breeze & distant snow, cold frost). Also, if you’re in a part of the timeline where A-Qing might show up, feel free to include as much of her as you like! I really enjoyed her character and her relationship with Xiao Xingchen and would have loved to have seen her interact more with Song Lan. If you want to return Xiao Xingchen to a living body and/or Song Lan to an alive state, feel free to do so (I’m very happy for that to be the plot, but you can also handwave entirely). Generally, though, I would love it if Xiao Xingchen was still blind if he gets a new body or his is restored, and while I’m totally okay with Song Lan’s tongue being restored (or not), I would love it if he kept Xiao Xingchen’s eyes because I find that whole interaction of Xiao Xingchen giving up his sight so meaningful for their relationship. For smut, I prefer bottom Xiao Xingchen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Xiao Xingchen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Xiao Xingchen and alpha or beta Song Lan.

• How did Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen meet, anyway, and how did their relationship develop? Maybe they were going after the same prey or ran into each other right in the middle of a fight during a night-hunt? Or maybe they decided to meet up because they’d heard of each other? Xiao Xingchen is a very approachable person, but Song Lan apparently less so, so how did they start getting along in the first place? How did they come up with their plan for their own sect? How did they fall in love?


• Apparently, Song Lan is mysophobic to some degree and doesn’t enjoy being touched. Him slowly warming up to the idea of being touched by Xiao Xingchen would be very nice to see (whether this goes into a fluffy or a smutty direction).


• Maybe Song Lan recovers earlier than he does in canon and intercepts Xiao Xingchen on his way down the mountain or shortly afterwards.


• Generally, I always enjoy characters night-hunting, whether this is before Yi City, or a much less traditional night-hunt with a fierce corpse and a spirit working together (or Xiao Xingchen somehow acquires a body again).


• If they do hunt past Yi City, I could see Xiao Xingchen being extremely twitchy or not even wanting to join in anymore, fearing that he will kill more people. Perhaps he does interfere once Song Lan is in mortal danger? Or maybe he slowly starts to trust himself again because he knows Song Lan would not betray him.


• Or the two of them settle down somewhere (Xiao Xingchen in a new body, or as a spirit), possibly with A-Qing, and both give up on hunting, but hunting has not given up on them! People are in danger and nobody is around to help, and the two of them are not the type to sit idly by.


• There was that crucial moment in Yi City where they almost met. What if Xiao Xingchen had left the house in that moment and ran into them, or A-Qing had announced Song Lan’s presence, or Song Lan had been overcome by emotion and couldn’t stop himself from taking a quick look inside to check if he was alright, and Xiao Xingchen noticed that someone was there? I think they could have at least beaten off Xue Yang, if not overcome him, if they had fought side-by-side (though later, they might still have to deal with the emotional fallout of Xiao Xingchen possibly learning he killed all those other people).


• Also, I would absolutely be here for an AU where Song Lan catches up with Xiao Xingchen and A-Qing before they ever find Xue Yang and they just avoid the whole Yi City debacle entirely, and Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan get to have their reunion.


• Past Yi City, how do they communicate if Xiao Xingchen’s spirit recovers? Xiao Xingchen presumable still can’t see any signs, but Song Lan can’t speak. However, I’m sure he would have spent the time while he was caring about the souls coming up with some idea. Or maybe as a spirit, Xiao Xingchen has powers that allow him to communicate in totally different ways?


• Maybe Song Lan spends quite a long time carefully watching the souls of A-Qing and Xiao Xingchen, but while A-Qing recovers, Xiao Xingchen doesn’t, and Song Lan eventually finds himself forced to accept the idea that Xiao Xingchen’s mind was just in too much turmoil to ever reassemble (not that it stops him from being very careful with the remains of his soul). Except, one day or night, Xiao Xingchen’s spirit appears.


• Through some accident on a night hunt, spirit Xiao Xingchen is returned into a soul-less body, or even his own body. Song Lan and him were really just happy to be together again, strange as their situation was, but now Xiao Xingchen has a real physical presence and that opens up some doors in their relationship that may have been easier to ignore while he didn’t.


• For Art: Any of the above ideas would be great, of course. I would love a picture of them just being sweet with each other? A hug as they’re finally reunited, a kiss, the two of them leaning/napping on each other – tooth-rotting fluff, basically, because they deserve it. Of course, if you would like to go for a more passionate intimate moment, I wouldn’t say no to that at all, either! I don’t mind gorey stuff, so if you want to create a picture with a focus on the missing tongue and/or missing eyes (maybe one of them comforting the other), that’s fine too. For something slightly less heavy, a picture of them travelling together and perhaps talking about the ideas they have for their sect before it all went to hell would be sweet, too. And, of course, I would always enjoy a picture of the two of them night-hunting together. Family pictures with A-Qing are also very welcome.

Jin Guangyao/Lan Xichen
The story of these two really hurt me deeply in the best way. It is such a sweet friendship, with Jin Guangyao honestly caring for Lan Xichen despite seeing most everyone else as pawns, and Lan Xichen being so convinced that the world is wrong about Jin Guangyao and unfair to him – and you know, in many ways they really are, but in the end, there were also too many crimes Jin Guangyao actually committed. For Qin Su, I would like it if her and Jin Guangyao had never met/gotten married, or if she had died a natural death at some point, or ran off with a guy/woman she fell in love with to have a happy life somewhere away from cultivation drama. For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Jin Guangyao.

• If you’re going for a full redemption arc plus happy ending, I’d rather if the fic diverged from canon before Jin Guangyao kills Nie Mingjue (which I don’t think Lan Xichen could get over) and before Jin Guangyao kills his father. It could also be an AU where neither murder happens for Reasons, even if those Reasons are just Jin Guangyao being foiled/people dying on their own and he totally might have killed them if he’d gotten the chance (or he finds a way to kill his father that doesn’t involve also killing prostitutes, I’m really not actually bothered by him killing his father, just the other people that died as a result of Jin Guangyao’s canonical plan).


• In such an AU, Jin Guangyao could even still be Sect Leader by handwavey way of rocks fall, everyone but Jin Guangyao’s baby nephew dies; or perhaps those deaths are indeed part of the plot of the fic and have to be solved by Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen.


• However, if you’re going for something in the thirteen year timeskip, I’m also happy with a nice story of them getting together and Jin Guangyao just keeping Lan Xichen in the dark like he does in canon, sort of a semi-happy tale because of course we all know that the other shoe will drop eventually.


• Maybe some co-parenting? Instead of Jin Ruson, Qin Su is the one who dies by assassination. Jin Guangyao really had nothing to do with planning that, but it doesn’t change the fact that he still believes his son eventually has to die. Only problem: when he tries to put the plan in action, he can’t bring himself to go through with it. Now he has to think of some other way to avoid suspicions about Jin Ruson’s heritage. Meanwhile, Lan Xichen stays over more to help out with both Jin Ruson and Jin Ling and since Jin Guangyao is not married anymore, their relationship eventually shifts as well...
  
• Ages are kind of vague anyway, but if you age Jin Guangyao up to be eighteen by the time he helps Lan Xichen hide from the Wen sect, maybe their romance even begins there? Could be Jin Guangyao is already putting in place a plan of seducing Lan Xichen (which gets out of hand when he actually falls in love), or maybe he still has some youthful indiscretion then and just kind of tumbles into it just like Lan Xichen.


• Relatedly, a full AU where Meng Yao decides, after being kicked down the stairs: screw all these cultivators, they seem like assholes, I’m going to become a rich clerk (or whatever) instead and not deal with any of that. Except he moves pretty close to Gusu, so it would be good to have a relationship with the Lan sect, which makes him hide Lan Xichen and oh no, this cultivator is very nice and respectful and now he’s in love.


• Someone is trying to kill Lan Xichen. It was not a good idea to try to murder the crush/boyfriend of one of the most cunning men in the country.


• I’d also love some fics about details of their relationship. For example, how did Jin Guangyao come by these pictures in the Blooming Garden study? Did he ask? Did Lan Xichen gift them spontaneously? Were they sitting a little too close as Jin Guangyao watched them being made? Does he maybe have other pictures by Lan Xichen in a more private place? Did he at some point fluster Lan Xichen by asking him to draw himself so that Jin Guangyao could always look at Lan Xichen even when they aren’t together? Did he ever find secret sketches Lan Xichen made of him?


• Night-hunting together is always great! Jin Guangyao is not as strong as other sect leaders, but he is tricky and brought Lan Xichen as muscle; and I would love to see more of him fighting with his interesting sword.


• The two of then helping out Nie Huaisang with some matter would be really fun as well.


• Either a servant really messes up or Jin Guangyao told them to do so because he was interested in what would happen, but somehow Lan Xichen ends up being served alcohol while he’s with Jin Guangyao. How does Jin Guangyao deal with the enthusiastic, happy version of Lan Xichen? Is he just kind of in awe/surprised, or does he make good use by badgering the answers to some private questions out of him... ?


• I have to include a forehead ribbon prompt, of course. Does Lan Xichen offer it to Jin Guangyao? Does it fall off and Jin Guangyao doesn’t think for a moment before he picks it up and is quite mortified, but Lan Xichen says he’s allowed to touch it? Or maybe Jin Guangyao touches/grabs it accidentally and the way Lan Xichen gets flustered tells him quite a bit about his feelings? Does Jin Guangyao take great pleasure in touching the thing once he’s allowed and Lan Xichen thinks it’s cute?


• I admit this is tropey as hell, but I always love animal shapeshifter stories. Maybe you shift according to your personality if you form a golden core? Or is it a hereditary thing (and what kind of shifters are the Jin and the Lan? Did Wei Wuxian bring bunnies to Lan Wangji because he can turn into one, or is it something else)? What do Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen shift into? Or maybe only one of them has that power?


• Smut is always fun, of course. Jin Guangyao does not seem to turn away trysts (he did end up with Qin Su), but does he do it just for fun or is there usually a utilitarian purpose behind his decision to sleep with someone? Maybe sleeping with Lan Xichen is kind of overwhelming in its own way because, oh no, he’s in love. On the other hand, Lan Xichen seems a little more ready than his brother used to be to bend the rules, so has he ever ended up sleeping with someone or is Jin Guangyao the first? Honestly, all options sound fun here! I imagine Jin Guangyao with his perfect memory knew more than he should have even at a young age from what he saw at the brothel, and maybe he also experimented himself, so him introducing a much more vanilla Lan Xichen to kinks would be great, too. Or maybe this is when they’re quite young and both have no practical experiences and thus fumble through together. Is Jin Guangyao worried that he may have missed his shot by being clumsy, but Lan Xichen doesn’t care at all and just liked being with him?


• This could either be A/B/O or other reason men can marry (other methods of mpreg, heirs can be adopted). Rocks fall, every Jin but baby Jin Ling (who I guess is a little older here to make the timeline fit) and Jin Guangyao dies shortly after Sunshot. However, Jin Guangyao doesn’t nearly have enough respect from the sects yet (he only just got his new name) after such an abrupt ascension and now he’s left holding a baby and Koi Tower. While he’s still reeling, to Jin Guangyao’s great surprise, Lan Xichen offers him his own hand to strengthen his position. Now they’re married but pining for each other because Lan Xichen doesn’t want to impose and Jin Guangyao thinks it was an act of friendship...


• For A/B/O or any other reason some men can have kids (or an AU where they can adopt an heir) – I feel if there’d been a way for Jin Guangyao to marry Lan Xichen, he definitely could have tried to seduce him quite early, probably even right after his stint with the Wen sect. After all, what better way to gain his father’s favour than to snatch a valuable marriage to the elder Jade of Lan? However, he also accidentally falls in love with Lan Xichen. Are they married sect leaders eventually, or does Jin Guangyao actually end up enjoying the respect and honest regard he gets from Lan Xichen (plus Lan Xichen being interested in his ideas, like Lookout Towers) and instead settles into his role as husband in the Cloud Recesses?


• Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen sleep together spur-of-the-moment during the tail end of the war. A few months later, Lan Xichen tells Jin Guangyao that he’s pregnant, quite distraught and unsure what Jin Guangyao will think. It’s a great advancement opportunity, of course, a kid with a Lan, so Jin Guangyao is overjoyed. However, maybe he’s a bit more led by his feelings than he wants to be, too.


• Schemer encounters scheming: Someone doesn’t like the fact that Lan Xichen is/was pregnant with a bastard prostitute son’s child at all and tries to get rid of their (just born or still unborn) kid (unsuccessfully, but can definitely be close). Jin Guangyao focuses his entire plot power.


• For A/B/O specifically, maybe Lan Xichen makes for a very awkward omega in the eyes of most (stronger than most alphas in both body and cultivation, tall, a fighter, a leader), and Jin Guangyao is an unusual alpha (shorter, weaker, appears to be quite meek), but they’re very attracted to each other.


• I would also like Modern AUs for these guys. I’m sure their relationship still encounters problems, but sometimes I just want nice things and no brutal death for them.


• For Art: Any of the above ideas would be great. I would really enjoy something sweet between them, like a hug, or Jin Guangyao giving Lan Xichen a surprise kiss after sneaking up, or one of them wearing the other clan’s robes. They also have a pretty significant height difference, so Lan Xichen bending down to kiss him would be nice. Jin Guangyao touching the forehead ribbon or pulling it off would be sweet. Smut would be great as well if you’re so inclined, whether it’s the kinky or romantic type, or both. I would also love a picture of them fighting side by side in the war or during a night hunt, or whispering during a Discussion Conference. And, of course, the two putting their heads together (for work or kissing) in the privacy of the Blooming Garden would be sweet. Also, we know Lan Xichen likes to draw and is apparently very good, so if you want to imitate a sketch or painting he did of them, that would be great as well.

Nie Mingjue/Lan Xichen
I really enjoyed the relationship between those two. Nie Mingjue does not seem to have many, or any other close friends, aside from Meng Yao, though that doesn’t last too long. What was it that made Lan Xichen different, made him fascinating to someone who, according to Jin Guangyao, is interested in nothing but decimating the Wen sect and his sabre? And how did someone as clement as Lan Xichen befriend the hot-tempered heir of the Unclean Realm? When Nie Mingjue isn’t currently trying to kill someone (usually Jin Guangyao), Lan Xichen doesn’t even seem too bothered by his temper at all, and he seems to genuinely enjoy his company as well. I would love to see anything, from childhood stories (perhaps with clandestine first kisses), to their time as young men, to fighting in the war, to a fix-it were all works out differently and Nie Mingjue doesn’t die. For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Nie Mingjue.

• How did Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue meet? Are they childhood friends? Did Nie Mingjue also go to the Lan sect for classes with Lan Qiren? Lan Xichen is a bit younger than him, I think, but he’s a Lan, so he might still have sat in the same classes, being a bit further in the curriculum, or shown the guests around. A teenage crush (with first kiss?) that eventually blooms into more once they’re older and get to see each other more often would be cool.


• Maybe Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue are just polite at first, but then start bonding over being older brothers. Lan Xichen wishes Lan Wangji was a little more social and open to people, like Nie Huaisang, and Nie Mingjue wishes Nie Huaisang was as studious as Lan Wangji. Conversations spiral from there. Stuff like Lan Xichen saving Nie Huaisang from some beast or ghost, or Nie Mingjue training Lan Wangji while Lan Xichen watches would also be great and would surely endear them more to each other.


• When Nie Mingjue’s father is wounded during the night hunt, Lan Xichen races to the Unclean Realm to calm Nie Mingjue with Cleansing, but also to be there for him. Already in such a raw emotional state, Nie Mingjue can’t quite keep in his feelings anymore...


• How did Lan Xichen first start playing for Nie Mingjue? How did he even find out that the sabre spirit is so dangerous? Did Nie Mingjue tell him and Lan Xichen actively started searching for a way to help, or did Nie Mingjue just hear him play and then found ever more excuses to ask him to play more for him, until Lan Xichen realised that this was quite strange from someone who otherwise doesn’t seem to like music that much? (Although maybe Nie Mingjue also likes specifically Lan Xichen’s music for other reasons...)


• I would also just love a scene of Lan Xichen playing for him and Nie Mingjue getting to relax for once. Maybe he falls asleep against Lan Xichen’s shoulder at some point and is flustered afterwards? Maybe sitting over the instrument late in the night leads to some confessions?


• Lan Xichen accidentally (or on purpose?) had some alcohol and now Nie Mingjue has to deal with him in his happily enthusiastic state.


• Battle couple is perfect for them. Whether they’re night-hunting together or fighting in the war, I bet they’re great as a team. Bonus points for one of them grabbing the other’s sword at some point (I mean Baxia and Shuoyue, smut prompts are further down) and fighting with it in a tight moment and the other finding that very fascinating to watch (okay, this could actually turn into post-battle smut).


• What if Nie Mingjue had survived? I would love to see a romance that develops somewhere in the thirteen year timeskip as they balance their love for each other with their responsibilities as sect leaders.

Or maybe a demonic cultivator raises him, but Nie Mingjue is not under their control. Were Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue lovers before or not? Does Lan Xichen think Nie Mingjue has come to kill him? Does he plan to let him? Maybe it turns out Fierce Corpse Nie Mingjue needs to regularly hear Liebing’s sound to stay calm, at least at the start? Lots of options here, but I would love a good(ish) ending for them.

Or maybe Lan Xichen is the more experienced one and surprises him with some skills he picked up? It could also be, of course, that they’re both experienced and blow each other’s mind the first time they go to bed. And what about kinks? Does Nie Mingjue have some he indulges, or does he just know more than he wants to because Nie Huiasang keeps leaving his books lying around, but now for the first time he’s guiltily leafing through a few of them and wondering how that would work with Lan Xichen? Is Lan Xichen very vanilla due to being sheltered from such things by his sect and very flustered (and intrigued) by everything new?


• For A/B/O or any other AU where mpreg is possible or they can adopt an heir, Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen would have made quite an obvious match. Maybe they were betrothed early, but only met in their teens? Maybe they weren’t even supposed to meet yet but snuck some clandestine glances at each other/had a few conversation? Or they might also have been convinced they would be mismatched based on their reputations, but then as young adults, they meet during a couple of night hunts and actually get along very well. Do they marry young or is it pushed off until after the war? Do they actually wait to start their romance until then or does it happen during the Sunshot campaign or even before?


• Or maybe it is highly unusual for two sect leaders to marry because it basically means they’re merging their sects a little bit. People think Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue are acting out because of love and that’s their official story, too. However, in reality Nie Mingjue knew he had to do something or his bloodline was eventually going to be doomed because of the constant qi deviations. Lan Xichen, who is after all the leader of the sect who seem to have the secret to taming the Nie, offered his help. Now they’re married and wildly mutually pining because they’re also actually in love.


• For A/B/O specifically, maybe Lan Xichen makes for a very awkward omega in the eyes of most (stronger than most alphas in both body and cultivation, tall, a fighter, a leader), but Nie Mingjue is absolutetly smitten.


• Or for A/B/O, omega Lan Xichen is still considered quite desirable and Wen Xu wants to marry him. This severely speeds up the start of the war courtesy of Nie Mingjue (who may even be his actual betrothed that Wen Xu is ignoring, or otherwise just his friend who would never let that happen even though Lan Xichen might be unhappily considering it for the good of the Lan sect).

Jin Guangyao/Nie Mingjue/Lan Xichen
I know it was unlikely, but I kind of wanted things to work out for them. They would have been immensely entertaining and probably near-unstoppable if they had managed to get it together and I always thought that perhaps they could have worked it out if things had gone just a bit differently! After all, they all independently of each other struck up friendships in the first place, so there’s enough there that each of them sees in the others to make a real triad relationship. However, if you would like to instead look at that moment in canon just after they become sworn brothers, or lengthen the time before Meng Yao leaves Nie Mingjue so that they have time to be together there (as long as Meng Yao is eighteen), that would also be great. For Qin Su, I would like it if her and Jin Guangyao had never met/gotten married, or if she had died a natural death at some point, or ran off with a guy/woman she fell in love with to have a happy life somewhere away from cultivation drama.

This fic can of course also include Jin Guangyao/Nie Mingjue, Nie Mingjue/Lan Xichen, or Jin Guangyao/Lan Xichen as long as it eventually turns into a closed triad; I just don't want anybody actively, purposefully cheating on somebody else, but muddled circumstances and we’re-pretending-we're-just-FWB-but-actually-pining is fine (as is two of them actively looking for a third, or just happening to find one, of course). • Maybe the Xue Yang problem never becomes such a big issue and the relationship between Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue actually starts to mend, even if Nie Mingjue still doesn’t like sneaky methods and Jin Guangyao probably also takes potshots at him sometimes, especially as they get closer again. Lan Xichen is very happy! Everything worked out as he’d hoped. Except, well, they’re all getting along a bit too well now...


• Lan Xichen is aware Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue used to be together and it looks like post-Sunshot Campaign, they’re slowly starting to get closer again, which is what he wanted! He does everything to facilitate mending their relationship, even though he’s in love with both of them and a bit lovesick. However, he ends up being sucked into the whole matter by accident.


• Jin Guangyao (or Meng Yao, depending on the point in time) has finally found something Nie Mingjue wants, other than sabres and killing Wen dogs, and with which he could manipulate him: Lan Xichen. He does his best to provide Lan Xichen to Nie Mingjue, but his plan kind of goes off the rails and somehow he ends up intimately involved in their relationship. That still works out somehow, though, so plan failed successfully?


• Nie Mingjue notices there’s something between Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen. Fine. It’s not like it’s his business. If he’s hovering and spending more time with them, it’s only because Jin Guangyao can be cunning and Lan Xichen too trusting. He’s not interested in this... however, when the other two invite him along, Nie Mingjue may or may not be surprised how happy he is about it.


• Jin Guangyao is already in a relationship with Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen when his father tries to pressure him to kill Nie Mingjue. Jin Guangyao makes the decision to tell both of them (with evidence) so that they can turn against his father instead. It’s a good way to get rid of his father, but also, he’s at a point where he just doesn’t want to kill one of his lovers and break the other’s heart.


• Someone makes a mistake serving drinks and Lan Xichen ends up drunk (which isn’t difficult, since he only has to accidentally drink a single cup). Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao end up watching over their happy drunk sworn brother, who starts open-heartedly confessing all sorts of things at just the slightest provocation, opening the way to perhaps a different way for their relationship to proceed...


• Or they’re all drunk (well, Jin Guangyao may or may not be, it would also be interesting if he’s still here scheming, but maybe he miscalculated the how strong the drink is) and Lan Xichen gets the great idea in his head to resolve the strange tension between them with some physical affection. It ends in a wild night of sex. The smut itself or the morning after would both be great. Also, maybe, oddly enough, drunk Lan Xichen’s idea of fixing their sworn brotherhood through threesomes ends up working.


• Lan Xichen and Jin Guangyao playing the guqin together (properly, not qi deviating, lol) for Nie Mingjue.


• A nighthunt or a case for them to solve would be great. How do their different strengths work together?


• What about the forehead ribbon? Maybe Lan Xichen drapes it playfully across the three of them in bed? Maybe either Jin Guangyao or Nie Mingjue touches it first, then the other, and then it becomes a battle about who can get more swipes/touches in that flusters Lan Xichen as much as it pleases him? Maybe both of them get to hold one end when it’s tied around some part of Lan Xichen (okay, that could also be a smut prompt)?


• I love animal shifter AUs always. Maybe you shift according to your personality when you develop a golden core? Or is it a hereditary thing (and what kind of shifters are the Jin, Nie and the Lan? Did Wei Wuxian bring bunnies to Lan Wangji because he can turn into one, or is it something else)? What do Jin Guangyao, Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen shift into? Or maybe only one of them or two of them have that power? I’d also love a story about the Nie clan hiding the secret that they can all turn into beasts because of their cultivation technique, so Lan Xichen and Jin Guangyao finding out about that would be a cool story, too.


• Smut would be great, incidentally. Are they at the same level of experience or does one have less? I could see Lan Xichen being quite sheltered, but on the other hand, if Nie Mingjue was focused on his training even before his father’s death, maybe he just never attempted anything? However, maybe they’re all not complete innocents and show this here. Jin Guangyao’s and Nie Mingjue’s relationship devolving into playful rivalry would be fun, whether it involves fighting over Lan Xichen, or whether Lan Xichen eventually ends up complaining (playfully, he’s probably happy that they’re not fighting for real...) that he feels superfluous because they just keep going at each other. And, of course, if one really needs to keep Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue apart for a little bit, Lan Xichen getting in the middle to be spitroasted would work! However, I’d also like to see a threesome between them that turns romantic and sweet, maybe more than any of them expected.


• If they’ve actually been together for quite a while and strengthened their bonds, I would love a three-way marriage, even if it probably has to be a private ceremony for themselves, or maybe with a few family members who know attending.


• If it is an AU where men can marry, does one of them find some historical precedent for a threeway marriage to actually be an option? Maybe the sworn brotherhood makes it possible? Or maybe two of them would have to become, nominally, the concubines of the other? If not, maybe two of them marry (after they’ve decided on the politically most advantageous pair), but invite the third into the bedchamber for the wedding night and make up for him not being able to participate publically?


• Mpreg would be interesting, either through A/B/O or maybe really strong cultivation makes it possible to form new life, or whatever other reason that some men can get pregnant. Lan Xichen ends up pregnant and he’s terrified because he has no idea which one the father is because, well, both did, uh... luckily, this is not a topic Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao end up fighting about at all, they’re happy being a family with the three of them as fathers.


• For A/B/O, maybe threeway marriages with alpha/beta/omega are pretty common. Alpha or beta Nie Mingjue and omega Lan Xichen are about to be married and ask Koi Tower for an alliance. Jin Guangshan is unwilling to commit too much and gives them alpha or beta Meng Yao/Jin Guangyao since he wants to get rid of him, anyway. However, these three turn out to be quite a great triad.


• I would also like Modern AUs for these guys. I’m sure their relationship is still complicated, but it probably wouldn’t be quite as bloody and sometimes, I just want nice things for them, haha.


• For Art: Any of the above would be great! The three of them sharing the robes of the others’ sects (or parts of them) would be really nice to see. Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao both playing with the forehad ribbon would also be sweet. Then, I would love to see Lan Xichen and Jin Guangyao play the guqin for Nie Mingjue together. The three of them embracing, kissing, generally being all over each other would be fun. One of them being flustered as the other two gang up on him for kisses/caresses would be sweet. Smut, whether romantic or kinky, would of course be appreciated. The three of them fighting together would also make for a great picture, I’m sure. Also, though this being possible is unlikely (but maybe it is an AU), a wedding picture would be nice. Also, we know Lan Xichen likes to draw and is apparently very good, so if you want to imitate a sketch or painting he did of them, that would be great as well.

Jiang Cheng/Lan Xichen
This is a pairing I’ve really come to enjoy despite the fact that they don’t have that much contact in canon – at least not that we see because I assume as leaders of major sects, and with Lan Xichen being so close to Jin Ling’s other guardian, they have actually met quite a bit. We know from Lan Xichen’s friendship with Nie Mingjue that he can handle tempestuous temperaments. Also, I feel like Lan Xichen ticks, though not at all, quite a few boxes on Jiang Cheng’s romance checklist, so that’s good! This could be set right after the war (it would probably be difficult after Wei Wuxian’s death due to Lan Xichen’s loyalty to his brother, who does not like Jiang Cheng past the Burial Mound siege, but perhaps Lan Xichen’s and Jiang Cheng’s relationship somehow ends up preventing the whole Wei Wuxian thing from going really south in the first place, or the Wen fled and that entire plot disappears entirely); or it could be post-canon, when they both have to work through their pain. Either way would be interesting! Post-canon, Jiang Cheng is probably not super welcome in the Cloud Recesses courtesy of Lan Wangji as long as he and Wei Wuxian haven’t had some sort of reconciliation, but does Lan Xichen end up facilitating it, or do the two of them end up meeting more once Jiang Cheng drops by sometimes to see Wei Wuxian after having a heart-to-heart with him? For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Jiang Cheng.

• Jiang Cheng had a crush on Lan Xichen during his time at the Cloud Recesses, but with Wei Wuxian already all over Lan Wangji, he didn’t also want to be causing trouble. However, he keeps running into Lan Xichen during the war and they slowly get to know each other better...


• Or for a similar prompt as above, after the war, Wei Wuxian (possibly in a timeline that doesn’t end in disaster for him) eventually picks up on their interactions and is delighted with the idea of Jiang Cheng being in love with a Lan, too (good taste in his opinion). He decides he’s absolutely going to matchmake them (perhaps men can even marry here, but I feel like Wei Wuxian wouldn’t be stopped either way).


• Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen meet up during the war. After a harrowing fight, they spend the night patching each other up and more happens... how do they deal with it afterwards?


• Post-ending, Jiang Cheng ends up making up with Wei Wuxian and sometimes comes to the Cloud Recesses. He’s pretty much the only one who doesn’t really respect Lan Xichen’s seclusion there and keeps stubbornly talking at the door or forcing invites. Even if he’s not the most sympathetic person in the world, though, it ends up being good for Lan Xichen. Was Jiang Cheng already in love and that’s why he was so stubborn? Or did he just not like Lan Xichen shutting himself away, but as they talk they slowly come to understand they’re both hurting (and have other things in common, too)?


• Jiang Cheng is stretching himself thin trying to run Lotus Pier and help with the Jin Sect. As Lan Xichen leaves seclusion, he offers his help, since he feels responsible for... well, basically everything that went wrong in the last twenty years. As they work together, they start to get along.


• Just Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen as a couple who both feel they’ve made terrible mistakes, but are much easier on the misdeeds of the other than they are on their own and find a little forgiveness with each other.


• Generally, I would love to see battle couple stuff at any point, whether it’s during the war or on a nighthunt or any other occasion where they have to defend themselves, each other, the other, or innocents.


• On the other hand, seeing the two of them being competent sect leaders together would be great, too. Jiang Cheng isn’t known for his gentle touch in diplomacy, but Lan Xichen probably folds too easily sometimes, so they really have matching strengths and weaknesses.


• What does Jin Ling think of his uncle’s relationship if he ever finds out? He’s getting surrounded by Lan... but Lan Xichen is at least pretty nice.


• I have to include a forehead ribbon prompt, of course. Does Lan Xichen offer it to Jiang Cheng? Does it fall off and Jiang Cheng doesn’t think for a moment before he picks it up and is quite mortified, but Lan Xichen says he’s allowed to touch it? Or maybe Jiang Cheng touches/grabs it accidentally and the way Lan Xichen gets flustered makes him wonder? Does Jiang Cheng take great pleasure in touching the thing once he’s allowed and Lan Xichen thinks it’s cute?


• I admit this is tropey as hell, but I always love animal shapeshifter stories. Maybe you shift according to your personality if you form a golden core? Or is it a hereditary thing (and what kind of shifters are the Jiang and the Lan? Did Wei Wuxian bring bunnies to Lan Wangji because he can turn into one, or is it something else)? What do Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen shift into? Or maybe only one of them has that power?


• Smut is, of course, always appreciated. Whether it’s their first or hundredth time together, whether they’re both very experienced or both (or one of them) fumbling their way through, all would be great.


• Kink discovery could be really fun with these two. Lan Xichen, as a Lan, is probably somewhat sheltered. Maybe Jiang Cheng has to introduce him to some of the more daring concepts? I also like the idea of Lan Xichen being very embarrassed about a kink and Jiang Cheng eventually coaxing it out of him (already worried because Lan Xichen is making such a big deal out of it), except then it turns out to be something totally milquetoast that Lan Xichen just couldn’t just properly gauge as not-actually-that-kinky.


• In a same-sex-marriage-is-allowed AU of any sort, Jiang Cheng was hoping to ask for Lan Xichen’s hand at some point and had even gotten the approval of the Jiang elders. However, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji announce their betrothal first and now there’s really no political need to tie themselves even tighter to the Lan. Jiang Cheng pines away hard. To his surprise, Lan Xichen also seems a little distracted the next time they meet (perhaps it’s even at the Wangxian wedding). Turns out they may have had similar plans... when do they find out? Do they decide to marry, anyway?


• Alpha/Beta Jiang Cheng has always found himself being compared to Wei Wuxian (whether he’s also an alpha, or seems to outclass him even as a beta or omega). It means he’s definitely never had the confidence to court someone like omega Lan Xichen, who has so many suitors (especially not if his brother already snatched Lan Wangji, meaning Lan Xichen would constantly have Wei Wuxian around to compare the two). What changes his mind? Maybe they fall in love working together and he realises Lan Xichen already holds him in high regard? Or maybe Lan Xichen is the one who starts courting him?


• On the other hand, maybe Lan Xichen makes for a very awkward omega in the eyes of most (stronger than most alphas in both body and cultivation, tall, a fighter, a leader) and is surprised when Jiang Cheng ends up courting him.


• Idea for A/B/O or any other reason (some) men can get pregnant: Post-ending, a relatively broken Lan Xichen introduces the idea of an arranged marriage to Jiang Cheng so they can both get heirs for their respective sects, since Lan Xichen can carry children and doesn’t want/believe in a love marriage anymore, since obviously he's not great at picking the people he cares about. Jiang Cheng sees the political sense in it and has pretty much given up on finding a partner by himself, anyway. Only it turns out they end up falling in love accidentally...


• Idea for A/B/O or any other reason (some) men can get pregnant: Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen lick their wounds together post-ending and fall into bed together as acquaintances-with-benefits. Lan Xichen accidentally gets pregnant. During the pregnancy and/or after caring for the baby together, the two of them fall in love.


• I would also like Modern AUs for these guys. I’m sure their relationship still has some hiccups, but sometimes I just want nice things and no war and (excessive) bloodshed for them.

Nie Huaisang/Lan Xichen
This is such an interesting pairing because depending on the point in the timeline, it could be a cute story about Nie Huaisang’s crush on his older brother’s best friend, or an extremely fraught tale about two men who just came out of a very complicated situation that will leave them unsure about how the other feels about them, or maybe even how they feel about the other. Inbetween are potential AUs where they get in a relationship in the thirteen years between Nie Mingjue’s death and canon and Nie Huaisang tips Lan Xichen off much earlier (we do know from canon Lan Xichen does act against Jin Guangyao when presented with evidence he can’t refute), or where perhaps he doesn’t and leaves his lover Lan Xichen in the dark (maybe because he thinks Lan Xichen is just not a good enough liar to help with his plan, or wouldn’t want to believe him, or would do unwise things like confront Jin Guangyao directly) and they have to mend their broken trust later. All options sound great to me, so have at it! For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Nie Huaisang.

• Nie Huaisang spent the war at the Cloud Recesses. Lan Xichen was mostly running around the country helping where he could, but I’m sure he checked in at home, too. Obviously Nie Huaisang has been to the Cloud Recesses quite a few times as a teenager, but this is the first time he isn’t really there as a kid to be taught (even if Nie Mingjue wants him to practice, lol). Maybe Lan Xichen finds an unlikely calm in the storm with him whenever he passes by and they get closer?


• Nie Huaisang having a big crush on Lan Xichen is generally a cute prompt to me. Maybe post-war things don’t go as sideways with Wei Wuxian (perhaps Lan Wangji can marry him to force others to see him as respectable again or something, or the Wens managed to flee and never became a point of contention, etc.) and he ends up being a slightly ridiculous matchmaker for his good friend Nie Huaisang?


• Modern AU would be fun for a mid-twenties romance, too, or in general! Sometimes, I just want them to have nice things without all the bloodshed and murder, lol.


• I also like weird set-up of Nie Huaisang having a bit of a puppy crush on Lan Xichen, but not at all wanting to disturb Nie Mingjue’s relationship with him. However, Nie Mingjue dies and after some time, Nie Huaisang and Lan Xichen end up getting closer.


• Okay, so what are we going to do about the Nie sabre problem, though? Because that’s going to continue to haunt the Nie sect. Is Nie Huaisang going to use his smarts to change their cultivation method? Maybe he needs Lan Xichen’s help to come up with something, since Lan Xichen is undoubtedly a much greater cultivator on a technical level or might find ways to incorporate the same energy that is used in Cleansing to regulate them. Lan Xichen may agree for the sake of stopping unnecessary deaths or to honour Nie Mingjue, but now Nie Huaisang and him are talking again…


• Lan Xichen doesn’t feel like he really knows who Nie Huaisang is post-canon, but as he drags himself out of seclusion, he decides he probably can’t afford to ignore him completely. On the other hand, he’s also not sure if he isn’t next on Nie Huaisang’s hit list for not catching on to Jin Guangyao’s betrayal sooner or accidentally providing him with the murder weapon. Nie Huaisang, meanwhile, has no plans to kill him, but isn’t sure where they stand, either. The two establishing a new kind of relationship would be interesting.


• Nie Huaisang is aware that Lan Xichen is not in a good state and people who have nothing to lose do unpredictable things sometimes. He comes to talk to him in seclusion mostly to prevent Lan Xichen from snapping and killing him. However, it turns out Lan Xichen isn’t really very angry at him and understands why he killed Jin Guangyao and they actually still get along, if on a different level than before.


• Nie Huaisang looking to become Chief Cultivator may feel like a bit of a deja-vu to Lan Xichen, who is worried he’s about to fall for the tricks of yet another power-hungry Jin Guangyao type. What convinces him Nie Huaisang won’t be so bad?


• For a smaller, sweet prompt, Lan Xichen is apparently a renowned painter. I’m sure Nie Huaisang would love to have some of his paintings. Maybe he even gets Lan Xichen to paint a fan for him? Or Lan Xichen decides he wants to paint one as a gift.


• Lan Xichen giving Nie Huaisang some tips for his own painting would be fun, too (probably behind Nie Mingjue’s back if he’s still alive). Or just the two of the painting together – they have a nice shared hobby.

• I could actually see Lan Xichen being the virgin between them, what with all those rules forbidding frivolities. Not to worry, Nie Huaisang is happy to teach him!


• First time bottoming for Lan Xichen would be fun. Maybe they always did it the other way around because it was sort of ‘expected’, with Lan Xichen being older and much bigger and what limited understanding he has of sex told him that means he should take the lead. But Nie Huaisang asks to switch at some point and Lan Xichen realizes it’s actually really fun this way, too.


• Nie Huaisang is a bit famous for his sizeable smut collection. Lan Xichen ends up stumbling over some of it in his bedroom. Maybe Nie Huaisang catches him while he’s leafing through the book? Or maybe Lan Xichen saw some fairly outlandish things, but because he’s still a sheltered Lan, he’s not quite sure what is expected. Can he get over himself and bring up his concerns to Nie Huaisang?


• Or maybe Nie Huaisang is quite eager to share his porn! I would love for them to go through that to take inspiration (even if Lan Xichen probably feels like his head is going to explode looking at so much indecent material, but maybe he is more curious than he admits...).


• For an A/B/O AU: alpha Nie Huaisang and omega Lan Xichen would actually make a pretty sensible match based on status alone. Even if Nie Huaisang is an alpha, he’s probably not a very stereotypically impressive one, so he could be an omega sect leader’s ‘lesser’ partner (and Nie Mingjue is probably relieved Nie Huaisang will be married to someone who can protect him). Nie Huaisang knows people laugh behind their back – an alpha who has to hide behind his omega’s back, how embarrassing –, but to his surprise, Lan Xichen actually approves of the arrangement. I bet Nie Huaisang has other ways than brute strength to be prove himself a good alpha and partner for Lan Xichen, anyway.


• On the other hand, maybe Lan Xichen makes for a very awkward omega in the eyes of most (stronger than most alphas in both body and cultivation, tall, a fighter, a leader) and is surprised when Nie Huaisang ends up courting him. However, if Nie Huaisang is an alpha, he knows what it’s like not to live up to stereotypes, and if he’s a beta, maybe he just doesn’t care about all that.


• Nie Huaisang becoming Lan Xichen’s husband would also work for any other AU where men can marry. He’s a second-born heir with no known inheritance of his own, so politically it would make sense. Lan Xichen and Nie Huaisang finding their way through this arranged marriage and ending up very much in love would be nice.


• When Nie Mingjue dies, Lan Xichen is mpregnant with his child. Nie Huaisang is there to support him and to take care off his nephew/niece, of course. Over time, the two of them start to get closer as they parent the baby together.


• For Art:Any of the above prompts would be great. One of them wearing the robes of the other’s sect (or parts of them) would be really nice to see. They also have a pretty significant height difference, so Lan Xichen bending down to kiss him would be nice. Nie Huaisang touching the forehead ribbon or pulling it off would be sweet. Smut would be great as well if you’re so inclined, whether it’s the kinky or romantic type, or both. I would also love a picture of Lan Xichen keeping Nie Huaisang safe during a night hunt or the war, or the two whispering during a Discussion Conference. Nie Huaisang also definitely enjoys the finer things in life and Lan Xichen is trained in quite a few of them, so although he needs no spiritual healing, Nie Huaisang would surely like listening to Lan Xichen playing the guqin or flute for him. Also, we know Lan Xichen likes to draw and is apparently very good and Nie Huaisang enjoys painting as well, so if you want to imitate a sketch or painting one of them did, that would be great, too.

Original Male Character/Lan Xichen
I always like seeing what people come up with when it comes to original characters, and I would really enjoy seeing Lan Xichen bouncing off all kinds of guys you might invent, as I think he has a personality that allows him to get along with quite a lot of different types. Something that starts in his youth or during his time as sect leader would be really fascinating to see, though something post-canon would be just as great. I mean, oh boy, canon did not end well for Lan Xichen, did it? I guess unlike many others, he is not dead, but all his best friends are, he’s learned he should not trust his own judgement even a little bit, is understandably riddled with guilt about both deaths of his sworn brothers, and by the time of the banquet, he seems to be slipping ever deeper into depression. It would be great if he also found someone to love and trust, or if he had an existing lover who could give him a hug. I have some ideas below, but anyone over eighteen who is not related to Lan Xichen and wasn't raised by him (like significantly younger disciples of his own sect) works. For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta OMC.

• Who is the OMC? Maybe a cultivator from a sect who used to come visit when Lan Xichen was still in Lan Qiren’s classes, and whom he maybe had a boyhood crush on? Then, years later, they run into each other again at a Discussion Conference or something.


• Maybe he’s a cultivator or even a civilian that Lan Xichen meets while he’s saving people all over during the Sunshot Campaign. Both being exhausted, frightened, desperate, they spend a night or a few together. They do not expect to meet again (perhaps regretfully so), but it turns out that person moved to Gusu/joined a prominent sect and suddenly they’re facing each other after the war.


• The OMC could also be a rogue cultivator who Lan Xichen knows and likes because he sometimes helps at the edges of their sect’s area. Working together again and again during night-hunts, they get closer.


• Or he could just be a commoner who lives in Gusu or in the surrounding villages who ends up keeping an eye out for the supernatural (maybe he’s a regular hunter who travels back and forth quite a bit). Lan Xichen and him keep meeting up and end up really liking each other.


• If this is past the end of the story, maybe Lan Xichen decides to go night-hunting on his own and then finds himself being hit on by a random traveller/regular hunter who doesn’t know who he is. Feeling like he has little to lose at this point, he shares the bed with him, and they start travelling together. He tells him he’s a sect leader, but the traveller knows little about cultivation and Lan Xichen actually likes just getting to be a person around him. It’s probably a bit of a surprise when Lan Xichen takes him back to the lofty Cloud Recesses, or it’s revealed in a meeting with other cultivators just how renowed Lan Xichen is.


• Or, while he’s in seclusion, a low-level disciple he knows but has never been particularly close with is tasked with checking on him from time to time. Lan Xichen and him start talking, and then feelings slowly develop. Did the disciple always have a bit of a crush on Lan Xichen?


• For something more light-hearted, Wei Wuxian catching wind of some guy always hanging around Lan Xichen and immediately realising what is going on (maybe even before Lan Xichen does) would be very fun. Hey, Lan Xichen is so depressed in seclusion and it worries Lan Wangji, so as a good husband and brother-in-law, Wei Wuxian basically has to intervene and make this happen...


• Smut would be great! Is the OMC the one who takes Lan Xichen’s virginity or vice versa, or are they both experienced? Does the OMC introduce him to some fun kinks or is in possession of some interesting pornography books? Is Lan Xichen in a “nothing matters” mood after the end and sleeps with several strangers in some attempt to stifle the pain, but ends up accidentally catching feelings for one of them?


• For A/B/O or any other AU where two men can create a child (or are allowed to adopt an heir), Lan Xichen is pushed by the elders to finally get married. Since he knows his duties, he lets them pick an important member of a promising sect. Lan Xichen really did not expect their marriage to be based on love, but to his surprise he actually finds himself enjoying the OMC’s presence.


• A slightly darker version could be that Lan Xichen is forced by the Wen sect to get married to protect the Lan sect. They want to humiliate him, so they give him someone unsuitable – a low level Wen disciple, or someone from an obscure clan like YingchuanWang (or another clan that has come into existence under similarly disreputable circumstances). However, the OMC was never a happy Wen servant, he gets along with Lan Xichen, ends up falling hard for him and defects. (If you want to go plotty or include background happy early Wangxian, maybe the Burial Mound-problem never appears because this husband consolidates the rest of the innocent Wen and gains protection for them.)


• If the arranged marriage happens past the ending of the novel, maybe Lan Xichen thinks he can’t bring himself to really love or trust anyone who is not his immediate family anymore. Because he feels guilty that his husband is getting him in this broken state, he tries to be at least pleasant and polite. Turns out his husband, also being a quite high-ranking cultivator, of course knows what happened and ends up being honestly supportive and starts drawing him out more and more. Lan Xichen can’t help but be charmed...


• For Art: Any of the above would be great! The two of them sharing clothes would be nice to see. The OMC holding the forehead ribbon or it being wrapped around his arm or him otherwise playing with it would be great, too. Maybe Lan Xichen plays the flute for him or they dance to someone else playing music? Of course, the two of them embracing, kissing, sitting quietly together (or not so quietly, depending on the OMC’s personality) would also be great. Smut, whether romantic or kinky or both, would of course be appreciated. The two of them fighting together during a night-hunt, if the OMC is a cultivator, would also make for a great picture, but so would Lan Xichen protecting him if the OMC is not a fighter. Also, we know Lan Xichen likes to draw and is apparently very good, so if you want to imitate a sketch or painting he did of them, that would be great as well.

Song Lan/Xiao Xingchen
So canon did not go very well for these two, to put it mildly, and as beautiful as the Yi City arc was, I really just want a little happiness for them. Obviously, fix-it fic would be extremely appreciated here, but if you’d rather delve into their relationship before tragedy struck, that would also be very interesting. I really enjoyed their idea of wanting to create a sect that does not rely on bloodlines and generally would love to hear about them night-hunting together and see more of how they acted around other people to get the reputations they have (bright moon, gentle breeze & distant snow, cold frost). Also, if you’re in a part of the timeline where A-Qing might show up, feel free to include as much of her as you like! I really enjoyed her character and her relationship with Xiao Xingchen and would have loved to have seen her interact more with Song Lan. If you want to return Xiao Xingchen to a living body, feel free to do so (I’m very happy for that to be the plot, but you can also handwave entirely). Generally, though, I would love it if Xiao Xingchen was still blind if he gets a new body or his is restored, and while I’m totally okay with Song Lan’s tongue being restored (or not), I would love it if he kept Xiao Xingchen’s eyes because I find that whole interaction of Xiao Xingchen giving up his sight so meaningful for their relationship. For smut, I prefer bottom Xiao Xingchen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Xiao Xingchen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Xiao Xingchen and alpha or beta Song Lan.

• How did Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen meet, anyway, and how did their relationship develop? Maybe they were going after the same prey or ran into each other right in the middle of a fight during a night-hunt? Or maybe they decided to meet up because they’d heard of each other? Xiao Xingchen is a very approachable person, but Song Lan apparently less so, so how did they start getting along in the first place? How did they come up with their plan for their own sect? How did they fall in love?


• Apparently, Song Lan is mysophobic to some degree and doesn’t enjoy being touched. Him slowly warming up to the idea of being touched by Xiao Xingchen would be very nice to see (whether this goes into a fluffy or a smutty direction).


• Maybe Song Lan recovers earlier than he does in canon and intercepts Xiao Xingchen on his way down the mountain or shortly afterwards.


• Generally, I always enjoy characters night-hunting, whether this is before Yi City, or a much less traditional night-hunt with a fierce corpse and a spirit working together (or Xiao Xingchen somehow acquires a body again).


• If they do hunt past Yi City, I could see Xiao Xingchen being extremely twitchy or not even wanting to join in anymore, fearing that he will kill more people. Perhaps he does interfere once Song Lan is in mortal danger? Or maybe he slowly starts to trust himself again because he knows Song Lan would not betray him.


• Or the two of them settle down somewhere (Xiao Xingchen in a new body, or as a spirit), possibly with A-Qing, and both give up on hunting, but hunting has not given up on them! People are in danger and nobody is around to help, and the two of them are not the type to sit idly by.


• There was that crucial moment in Yi City where they almost met. What if Xiao Xingchen had left the house in that moment and ran into them, or A-Qing had announced Song Lan’s presence, or Song Lan had been overcome by emotion and couldn’t stop himself from taking a quick look inside to check if he was alright, and Xiao Xingchen noticed that someone was there? I think they could have at least beaten off Xue Yang, if not overcome him, if they had fought side-by-side (though later, they might still have to deal with the emotional fallout of Xiao Xingchen possibly learning he killed all those other people).


• Also, I would absolutely be here for an AU where Song Lan catches up with Xiao Xingchen and A-Qing before they ever find Xue Yang and they just avoid the whole Yi City debacle entirely, and Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan get to have their reunion.


• Past Yi City, how do they communicate if Xiao Xingchen’s spirit recovers? Xiao Xingchen presumable still can’t see any signs, but Song Lan can’t speak. However, I’m sure he would have spent the time while he was caring about the souls coming up with some idea. Or maybe as a spirit, Xiao Xingchen has powers that allow him to communicate in totally different ways?


• Maybe Song Lan spends quite a long time carefully watching the souls of A-Qing and Xiao Xingchen, but while A-Qing recovers, Xiao Xingchen doesn’t, and Song Lan eventually finds himself forced to accept the idea that Xiao Xingchen’s mind was just in too much turmoil to ever reassemble (not that it stops him from being very careful with the remains of his soul). Except, one day or night, Xiao Xingchen’s spirit appears.


• Through some accident on a night hunt, spirit Xiao Xingchen is returned into a soul-less body, or even his own body. Song Lan and him were really just happy to be together again, strange as their situation was, but now Xiao Xingchen has a real physical presence and that opens up some doors in their relationship that may have been easier to ignore while he didn’t.


• For Art: Any of the above ideas would be great, of course. I would love a picture of them just being sweet with each other? A hug as they’re finally reunited, a kiss, the two of them leaning/napping on each other – tooth-rotting fluff, basically, because they deserve it. Of course, if you would like to go for a more passionate intimate moment, I wouldn’t say no to that at all, either! I don’t mind gorey stuff, so if you want to create a picture with a focus on the missing tongue and/or missing eyes (maybe one of them comforting the other), that’s fine too. For something slightly less heavy, a picture of them travelling together and perhaps talking about the ideas they have for their sect before it all went to hell would be sweet, too. And, of course, I would always enjoy a picture of the two of them night-hunting together. Family pictures with A-Qing are also very welcome.

Jin Guangyao/Lan Xichen
The story of these two really hurt me deeply in the best way. It is such a sweet friendship, with Jin Guangyao honestly caring for Lan Xichen despite seeing most everyone else as pawns, and Lan Xichen being so convinced that the world is wrong about Jin Guangyao and unfair to him – and you know, in many ways they really are, but in the end, there were also too many crimes Jin Guangyao actually committed. For Qin Su, I would like it if her and Jin Guangyao had never met/gotten married, or if she had died a natural death at some point, or ran off with a guy/woman she fell in love with to have a happy life somewhere away from cultivation drama. For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Jin Guangyao.

• If you’re going for a full redemption arc plus happy ending, I’d rather if the fic diverged from canon before Jin Guangyao kills Nie Mingjue (which I don’t think Lan Xichen could get over) and before Jin Guangyao kills his father. It could also be an AU where neither murder happens for Reasons, even if those Reasons are just Jin Guangyao being foiled/people dying on their own and he totally might have killed them if he’d gotten the chance (or he finds a way to kill his father that doesn’t involve also killing prostitutes, I’m really not actually bothered by him killing his father, just the other people that died as a result of Jin Guangyao’s canonical plan).


• In such an AU, Jin Guangyao could even still be Sect Leader by handwavey way of rocks fall, everyone but Jin Guangyao’s baby nephew dies; or perhaps those deaths are indeed part of the plot of the fic and have to be solved by Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen.


• However, if you’re going for something in the thirteen year timeskip, I’m also happy with a nice story of them getting together and Jin Guangyao just keeping Lan Xichen in the dark like he does in canon, sort of a semi-happy tale because of course we all know that the other shoe will drop eventually.


• Maybe some co-parenting? Instead of Jin Ruson, Qin Su is the one who dies by assassination. Jin Guangyao really had nothing to do with planning that, but it doesn’t change the fact that he still believes his son eventually has to die. Only problem: when he tries to put the plan in action, he can’t bring himself to go through with it. Now he has to think of some other way to avoid suspicions about Jin Ruson’s heritage. Meanwhile, Lan Xichen stays over more to help out with both Jin Ruson and Jin Ling and since Jin Guangyao is not married anymore, their relationship eventually shifts as well...
  
• Ages are kind of vague anyway, but if you age Jin Guangyao up to be eighteen by the time he helps Lan Xichen hide from the Wen sect, maybe their romance even begins there? Could be Jin Guangyao is already putting in place a plan of seducing Lan Xichen (which gets out of hand when he actually falls in love), or maybe he still has some youthful indiscretion then and just kind of tumbles into it just like Lan Xichen.


• Relatedly, a full AU where Meng Yao decides, after being kicked down the stairs: screw all these cultivators, they seem like assholes, I’m going to become a rich clerk (or whatever) instead and not deal with any of that. Except he moves pretty close to Gusu, so it would be good to have a relationship with the Lan sect, which makes him hide Lan Xichen and oh no, this cultivator is very nice and respectful and now he’s in love.


• Someone is trying to kill Lan Xichen. It was not a good idea to try to murder the crush/boyfriend of one of the most cunning men in the country.


• I don’t think the show mentions it, but Lan Xichen is supposed to be a very talented painter. I would love for him to draw Jin Guangyao, whether this turns out to be a sweet or smutty prompt, or gift him some pictures like he apparently did in the book. Or maybe Jin Guangyao at some point flustered Lan Xichen by asking him to draw himself so that Jin Guangyao could always look at Lan Xichen even when they aren’t together? Did he ever find secret sketches Lan Xichen made of him?


• Night-hunting together is always great! Jin Guangyao is not as strong as other sect leaders, but he is tricky and brought Lan Xichen as muscle; and I would love to see more of him fighting with his interesting sword.


• The two of then helping out Nie Huaisang with some matter would be really fun as well.


• Either a servant really messes up or Jin Guangyao told them to do so because he was interested in what would happen, but somehow Lan Xichen ends up being served alcohol while he’s with Jin Guangyao. How does Jin Guangyao deal with the enthusiastic, happy version of Lan Xichen? Is he just kind of in awe/surprised, or does he make good use by badgering the answers to some private questions out of him... ?


• I have to include a forehead ribbon prompt, of course. Does Lan Xichen offer it to Jin Guangyao? Does it fall off and Jin Guangyao doesn’t think for a moment before he picks it up and is quite mortified, but Lan Xichen says he’s allowed to touch it? Or maybe Jin Guangyao touches/grabs it accidentally and the way Lan Xichen gets flustered tells him quite a bit about his feelings? Does Jin Guangyao take great pleasure in touching the thing once he’s allowed and Lan Xichen thinks it’s cute?


• I admit this is tropey as hell, but I always love animal shapeshifter stories. Maybe you shift according to your personality if you form a golden core? Or is it a hereditary thing (and what kind of shifters are the Jin and the Lan? Did Wei Wuxian bring bunnies to Lan Wangji because he can turn into one, or is it something else)? What do Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen shift into? Or maybe only one of them has that power?


• Smut is always fun, of course. I could see Jin Guangyao doing trysts, but is it for fun or is there usually a utilitarian purpose behind his decision to sleep with someone? Maybe sleeping with Lan Xichen is kind of overwhelming in its own way because, oh no, he’s in love. On the other hand, Lan Xichen seems a little more ready than his brother used to be to bend the rules, so has he ever ended up sleeping with someone or is Jin Guangyao the first? Honestly, all options sound fun here! I imagine Jin Guangyao with his perfect memory knew more than he should have even at a young age from what he saw at the brothel, and maybe he also experimented himself, so him introducing a much more vanilla Lan Xichen to kinks would be great, too. Or maybe this is when they’re quite young and both have no practical experiences and thus fumble through together. Is Jin Guangyao worried that he may have missed his shot by being clumsy, but Lan Xichen doesn’t care at all and just liked being with him?


• This could either be A/B/O or other reason men can marry (other methods of mpreg, heirs can be adopted). Rocks fall, every Jin but baby Jin Ling (who I guess is a little older here to make the timeline fit) and Jin Guangyao dies shortly after Sunshot. However, Jin Guangyao doesn’t nearly have enough respect from the sects yet (he only just got his new name) after such an abrupt ascension and now he’s left holding a baby and Koi Tower. While he’s still reeling, to Jin Guangyao’s great surprise, Lan Xichen offers him his own hand to strengthen his position. Now they’re married but pining for each other because Lan Xichen doesn’t want to impose and Jin Guangyao thinks it was an act of friendship...


• For A/B/O or any other reason some men can have kids (or an AU where they can adopt an heir) – I feel if there’d been a way for Jin Guangyao to marry Lan Xichen, he definitely could have tried to seduce him quite early, maybe even while he was still with the Nie sect, or at least after the war. After all, what better way to gain his father’s favour than to snatch a valuable marriage to the elder Jade of Lan? However, he also accidentally falls in love with Lan Xichen. Are they married sect leaders eventually, or does Jin Guangyao actually end up enjoying the respect and honest regard he gets from Lan Xichen (plus Lan Xichen being interested in his ideas, like Lookout Towers) and instead settles into his role as husband in the Cloud Recesses?


• Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen sleep together spur-of-the-moment during the tail end of the war. A few months later, Lan Xichen tells Jin Guangyao that he’s pregnant, quite distraught and unsure what Jin Guangyao will think. It’s a great advancement opportunity, of course, a kid with a Lan, so Jin Guangyao is overjoyed. However, maybe he’s a bit more led by his feelings than he wants to be, too.


• Schemer encounters scheming: Someone doesn’t like the fact that Lan Xichen is/was pregnant with a bastard prostitute son’s child at all and tries to get rid of their (just born or still unborn) kid (unsuccessfully, but can definitely be close). Jin Guangyao focuses his entire plot power.


• For A/B/O specifically, maybe Lan Xichen makes for a very awkward omega in the eyes of most (stronger than most alphas in both body and cultivation, tall, a fighter, a leader), and Jin Guangyao is an unusual alpha (shorter, weaker, appears to be quite meek), but they’re very attracted to each other.


• I would also like Modern AUs for these guys. I’m sure their relationship still encounters problems, but sometimes I just want nice things and no brutal death for them.


• For Art: Any of the above ideas would be great. I would really enjoy something sweet between them, like a hug, or Jin Guangyao giving Lan Xichen a surprise kiss after sneaking up, or one of them wearing the other clan’s robes. They also have a pretty significant height difference, so Lan Xichen bending down to kiss him would be nice. Jin Guangyao touching the forehead ribbon or pulling it off would be sweet. Smut would be great as well if you’re so inclined, whether it’s the kinky or romantic type, or both. I would also love a picture of them fighting side by side in the war or during a night hunt, or whispering during a Discussion Conference. And, of course, the two putting their heads together (for work or kissing) in the privacy of the Blooming Garden would be sweet. Also, in book canon Lan Xichen likes to draw and is apparently very good, so if you want to imitate a sketch or painting he did of them, that would be great as well.

Nie Mingjue/Lan Xichen
I really enjoyed the relationship between those two. Nie Mingjue does not seem to have many, or any other close friends, aside from Meng Yao, though that doesn’t last too long. What was it that made Lan Xichen different, made him fascinating to someone who, according to Jin Guangyao, is interested in nothing but decimating the Wen sect and his sabre? And how did someone as clement as Lan Xichen befriend the hot-tempered heir of the Unclean Realm? When Nie Mingjue isn’t currently trying to kill someone (usually Jin Guangyao), Lan Xichen doesn’t even seem too bothered by his temper at all, and he seems to genuinely enjoy his company as well. I would love to see anything, from childhood stories (perhaps with clandestine first kisses), to their time as young men, to fighting in the war, to a fix-it were all works out differently and Nie Mingjue doesn’t die. For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Nie Mingjue.

• How did Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue meet? Are they childhood friends? Did Nie Mingjue also go to the Lan sect for classes with Lan Qiren? Lan Xichen is a bit younger than him, I think, but he’s a Lan, so he might still have sat in the same classes, being a bit further in the curriculum, or shown the guests around. A teenage crush (with first kiss?) that eventually blooms into more once they’re older and get to see each other more often would be cool.


• Maybe Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue are just polite at first, but then start bonding over being older brothers. Lan Xichen wishes Lan Wangji was a little more social and open to people, like Nie Huaisang, and Nie Mingjue wishes Nie Huaisang was as studious as Lan Wangji. Conversations spiral from there. Stuff like Lan Xichen saving Nie Huaisang from some beast or ghost, or Nie Mingjue training Lan Wangji while Lan Xichen watches would also be great and would surely endear them more to each other.


• When Nie Mingjue’s father is wounded during the night hunt, Lan Xichen races to the Unclean Realm to calm Nie Mingjue with Cleansing, but also to be there for him. Already in such a raw emotional state, Nie Mingjue can’t quite keep in his feelings anymore...


• How did Lan Xichen first start playing for Nie Mingjue? How did he even find out that the sabre spirit is so dangerous? Did Nie Mingjue tell him and Lan Xichen actively started searching for a way to help, or did Nie Mingjue just hear him play and then found ever more excuses to ask him to play more for him, until Lan Xichen realised that this was quite strange from someone who otherwise doesn’t seem to like music that much? (Although maybe Nie Mingjue also likes specifically Lan Xichen’s music for other reasons...)


• I would also just love a scene of Lan Xichen playing for him and Nie Mingjue getting to relax for once. Maybe he falls asleep against Lan Xichen’s shoulder at some point and is flustered afterwards? Maybe sitting over the instrument late in the night leads to some confessions?


• Lan Xichen accidentally (or on purpose?) had some alcohol and now Nie Mingjue has to deal with him in his happily enthusiastic state.


• Battle couple is perfect for them. Whether they’re night-hunting together or fighting in the war, I bet they’re great as a team. Bonus points for one of them grabbing the other’s sword at some point (I mean Baxia and Shuoyue, smut prompts are further down) and fighting with it in a tight moment and the other finding that very fascinating to watch (okay, this could actually turn into post-battle smut).


• What if Nie Mingjue had survived? I would love to see a romance that develops somewhere in the thirteen year timeskip as they balance their love for each other with their responsibilities as sect leaders.

Or maybe Lan Xichen is the more experienced one and surprises him with some skills he picked up? It could also be, of course, that they’re both experienced and blow each other’s mind the first time they go to bed. And what about kinks? Does Nie Mingjue have some he indulges, or does he just know more than he wants to because Nie Huiasang keeps leaving his books lying around, but now for the first time he’s guiltily leafing through a few of them and wondering how that would work with Lan Xichen? Is Lan Xichen very vanilla due to being sheltered from such things by his sect and very flustered (and intrigued) by everything new?


• For A/B/O or any other AU where mpreg is possible or they can adopt an heir, Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen would have made quite an obvious match. Maybe they were betrothed early, but only met in their teens? Maybe they weren’t even supposed to meet yet but snuck some clandestine glances at each other/had a few conversation? Or they might also have been convinced they would be mismatched based on their reputations, but then as young adults, they meet during a couple of night hunts and actually get along very well. Do they marry young or is it pushed off until after the war? Do they actually wait to start their romance until then or does it happen during the Sunshot campaign or even before?


• Or maybe it is highly unusual for two sect leaders to marry because it basically means they’re merging their sects a little bit. People think Lan Xichen and Nie Mingjue are acting out because of love and that’s their official story, too. However, in reality Nie Mingjue knew he had to do something or his bloodline was eventually going to be doomed because of the constant qi deviations. Lan Xichen, who is after all the leader of the sect who seem to have the secret to taming the Nie, offered his help. Now they’re married and wildly mutually pining because they’re also actually in love.


• For A/B/O specifically, maybe Lan Xichen makes for a very awkward omega in the eyes of most (stronger than most alphas in both body and cultivation, tall, a fighter, a leader), but Nie Mingjue is absolutetly smitten.


• Or for A/B/O, omega Lan Xichen is still considered quite desirable and Wen Xu wants to marry him. This severely speeds up the start of the war courtesy of Nie Mingjue (who may even be his actual betrothed that Wen Xu is ignoring, or otherwise just his friend who would never let that happen even though Lan Xichen might be unhappily considering it for the good of the Lan sect).


• I would also like Modern AUs for these guys. I’m sure their relationship still encounters problems, but sometimes I just want nice things and no brutal death for them, haha.


• For Art: Any of the above would be great! One of them wearing the robes of the other’s sect (or parts of them) would be really nice to see, as would be Lan Xichen wearing Nie braids. Nie Mingjue holding the forehead ribbon or it being wrapped around his arm or otherwise playing with it would be great, too. Then, I would love to see Lan Xichen play the guqin or the xiao for him and Nie Mingjue enjoying himself. Of course, the two of them embracing, kissing, generally being all over each other would be fun. Nie Mingjue being flustered as Lan Xichen places a surprise kiss on him would be great. Smut, whether romantic or kinky, would of course be appreciated. The two of them fighting together would also make for a great picture, I’m sure. I’d also love to see a visual depiction of the sabre spirit or Nie Mingjue being affected by it, with Lan Xichen soothing it/him? Also, we know Lan Xichen likes to draw and is apparently very good, so if you want to imitate a sketch or painting he did of them, that would be great as well.

Jin Guangyao/Nie Mingjue/Lan Xichen
I know it was unlikely, but I kind of wanted things to work out for them. They would have been immensely entertaining and probably near-unstoppable if they had managed to get it together and I always thought that perhaps they could have worked it out if things had gone just a bit differently! After all, they all independently of each other struck up friendships in the first place, so there’s enough there that each of them sees in the others to make a real triad relationship. However, if you would like to instead look at that moment in canon just after they become sworn brothers, or lengthen the time before Meng Yao leaves Nie Mingjue so that they have time to be together there (as long as Meng Yao is eighteen), that would also be great. For Qin Su, I would like it if her and Jin Guangyao had never met/gotten married, or if she had died a natural death at some point, or ran off with a guy/woman she fell in love with to have a happy life somewhere away from cultivation drama.

This fic can of course also include Jin Guangyao/Nie Mingjue, Nie Mingjue/Lan Xichen, or Jin Guangyao/Lan Xichen as long as it eventually turns into a closed triad; I just don't want anybody actively, purposefully cheating on somebody else, but muddled circumstances and we’re-pretending-we're-just-FWB-but-actually-pining is fine (as is two of them actively looking for a third, or just happening to find one, of course). For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen and have no preference between the other two. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao.

• Maybe the Xue Yang problem never becomes such a big issue and the relationship between Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue actually starts to mend, even if Nie Mingjue still doesn’t like sneaky methods and Jin Guangyao probably also takes potshots at him sometimes, especially as they get closer again. Lan Xichen is very happy! Everything worked out as he’d hoped. Except, well, they’re all getting along a bit too well now...


• Lan Xichen is aware Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue used to be together and it looks like post-Sunshot Campaign, they’re slowly starting to get closer again, which is what he wanted! He does everything to facilitate mending their relationship, even though he’s in love with both of them and a bit lovesick. However, he ends up being sucked into the whole matter by accident.


• Jin Guangyao (or Meng Yao, depending on the point in time) has finally found something Nie Mingjue wants, other than sabres and killing Wen dogs, and with which he could manipulate him: Lan Xichen. He does his best to provide Lan Xichen to Nie Mingjue, but his plan kind of goes off the rails and somehow he ends up intimately involved in their relationship. That still works out somehow, though, so plan failed successfully?


• Nie Mingjue notices there’s something between Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen. Fine. It’s not like it’s his business. If he’s hovering and spending more time with them, it’s only because Jin Guangyao can be cunning and Lan Xichen too trusting. He’s not interested in this... however, when the other two invite him along, Nie Mingjue may or may not be surprised how happy he is about it.


• Jin Guangyao is already in a relationship with Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen when his father tries to pressure him to kill Nie Mingjue. Jin Guangyao makes the decision to tell both of them (with evidence) so that they can turn against his father instead. It’s a good way to get rid of his father, but also, he’s at a point where he just doesn’t want to kill one of his lovers and break the other’s heart.


• Someone makes a mistake serving drinks and Lan Xichen ends up drunk (which isn’t difficult, since he only has to accidentally drink a single cup). Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao end up watching over their happy drunk sworn brother, who starts open-heartedly confessing all sorts of things at just the slightest provocation, opening the way to perhaps a different way for their relationship to proceed...


• Or they’re all drunk (well, Jin Guangyao may or may not be, it would also be interesting if he’s still here scheming, but maybe he miscalculated the how strong the drink is) and Lan Xichen gets the great idea in his head to resolve the strange tension between them with some physical affection. It ends in a wild night of sex. The smut itself or the morning after would both be great. Also, maybe, oddly enough, drunk Lan Xichen’s idea of fixing their sworn brotherhood through threesomes ends up working.


• Lan Xichen and Jin Guangyao playing the guqin together (properly, not qi deviating, lol) for Nie Mingjue.


• A nighthunt or a case for them to solve would be great. How do their different strengths work together?


• What about the forehead ribbon? Maybe Lan Xichen drapes it playfully across the three of them in bed? Maybe either Jin Guangyao or Nie Mingjue touches it first, then the other, and then it becomes a battle about who can get more swipes/touches in that flusters Lan Xichen as much as it pleases him? Maybe both of them get to hold one end when it’s tied around some part of Lan Xichen (okay, that could also be a smut prompt)?


• I love animal shifter AUs always. Maybe you shift according to your personality when you develop a golden core? Or is it a hereditary thing (and what kind of shifters are the Jin, Nie and the Lan? Did Wei Wuxian bring bunnies to Lan Wangji because he can turn into one, or is it something else)? What do Jin Guangyao, Nie Mingjue and Lan Xichen shift into? Or maybe only one of them or two of them have that power? I’d also love a story about the Nie clan hiding the secret that they can all turn into beasts because of their cultivation technique, so Lan Xichen and Jin Guangyao finding out about that would be a cool story, too.


• Smut would be great, incidentally. Are they at the same level of experience or does one have less? I could see Lan Xichen being quite sheltered, but on the other hand, if Nie Mingjue was focused on his training even before his father’s death, maybe he just never attempted anything? However, maybe they’re all not complete innocents and show this here. Jin Guangyao’s and Nie Mingjue’s relationship devolving into playful rivalry would be fun, whether it involves fighting over Lan Xichen, or whether Lan Xichen eventually ends up complaining (playfully, he’s probably happy that they’re not fighting for real...) that he feels superfluous because they just keep going at each other. And, of course, if one really needs to keep Jin Guangyao and Nie Mingjue apart for a little bit, Lan Xichen getting in the middle to be spitroasted would work! However, I’d also like to see a threesome between them that turns romantic and sweet, maybe more than any of them expected.


• If they’ve actually been together for quite a while and strengthened their bonds, I would love a three-way marriage, even if it probably has to be a private ceremony for themselves, or maybe with a few family members who know attending.


• If it is an AU where men can marry, does one of them find some historical precedent for a threeway marriage to actually be an option? Maybe the sworn brotherhood makes it possible? Or maybe two of them would have to become, nominally, the concubines of the other? If not, maybe two of them marry (after they’ve decided on the politically most advantageous pair), but invite the third into the bedchamber for the wedding night and make up for him not being able to participate publically?


• Mpreg would be interesting, either through A/B/O or maybe really strong cultivation makes it possible to form new life, or whatever other reason that some men can get pregnant. Lan Xichen ends up pregnant and he’s terrified because he has no idea which one the father is because, well, both did, uh... luckily, this is not a topic Nie Mingjue and Jin Guangyao end up fighting about at all, they’re happy being a family with the three of them as fathers.


• For A/B/O, maybe threeway marriages with alpha/beta/omega are pretty common. Alpha or beta Nie Mingjue and omega Lan Xichen are about to be married and ask Koi Tower for an alliance. Jin Guangshan is unwilling to commit too much and gives them alpha or beta Meng Yao/Jin Guangyao since he wants to get rid of him, anyway. However, these three turn out to be quite a great triad.


• I would also like Modern AUs for these guys. I’m sure their relationship is still complicated, but it probably wouldn’t be quite as bloody and sometimes, I just want nice things for them, haha.


• For Art: Any of the above would be great! The three of them sharing the robes of the others’ sects (or parts of them) would be really nice to see; Meng Yao also looked great with Nie braids and so would Lan Xichen. Jiang Cheng/Lan Xichen
This is a pairing I’ve really come to enjoy despite the fact that they don’t have that much contact in canon – at least not that we see because I assume as leaders of major sects, and with Lan Xichen being so close to Jin Ling’s other guardian, they have actually met quite a bit. We know from Lan Xichen’s friendship with Nie Mingjue that he can handle tempestuous temperaments. Also, I feel like Lan Xichen ticks, though not at all, quite a few boxes on Jiang Cheng’s romance checklist, so that’s good! This could be set right after the war (it would probably be difficult after Wei Wuxian’s death due to Lan Xichen’s loyalty to his brother, who does not like Jiang Cheng past the Nightless City siege, but perhaps Lan Xichen’s and Jiang Cheng’s relationship somehow ends up preventing the whole Wei Wuxian thing from going really south in the first place, or the Wen fled and that entire plot disappears entirely); or it could be post-canon, when they both have to work through their pain. Either way would be interesting! Post-canon, Jiang Cheng is probably not super welcome in the Cloud Recesses courtesy of Lan Wangji as long as he and Wei Wuxian haven’t had some sort of reconciliation, but does Lan Xichen end up facilitating it, or do the two of them end up meeting more once Jiang Cheng drops by sometimes to see Wei Wuxian after having a heart-to-heart with him? For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Jiang Cheng.

• Jiang Cheng had a crush on Lan Xichen during his time at the Cloud Recesses, but with Wei Wuxian already all over Lan Wangji, he didn’t also want to be causing trouble. However, he keeps running into Lan Xichen during the war and they slowly get to know each other better...


• Or for a similar prompt as above, after the war, Wei Wuxian (possibly in a timeline that doesn’t end in disaster for him) eventually picks up on their interactions and is delighted with the idea of Jiang Cheng being in love with a Lan, too (good taste in his opinion). He decides he’s absolutely going to matchmake them (perhaps men can even marry here, but I feel like Wei Wuxian wouldn’t be stopped either way).


• Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen meet up during the war. After a harrowing fight, they spend the night patching each other up and more happens... how do they deal with it afterwards?


• Post-ending, Jiang Cheng ends up making up with Wei Wuxian and sometimes comes to the Cloud Recesses. If Lan Xichen is also in seclusion in this version, he’s pretty much the only one who doesn’t really respect Lan Xichen’s seclusion and keeps stubbornly talking at the door or forcing invites. Even if he’s not the most sympathetic person in the world, though, it ends up being good for Lan Xichen. Was Jiang Cheng already in love and that’s why he was so stubborn? Or did he just not like Lan Xichen shutting himself away, but as they talk they slowly come to understand they’re both hurting (and have other things in common, too)?


• Jiang Cheng is stretching himself thin trying to run Lotus Pier and help with the Jin Sect. As Lan Xichen leaves seclusion (or right from the start if he never went into seclusion and was just dead inside regularly, lol), he offers his help, since he feels responsible for... well, basically everything that went wrong in the last twenty years. As they work together, they start to get along.


• Just Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen as a couple who both feel they’ve made terrible mistakes, but are much easier on the misdeeds of the other than they are on their own and find a little forgiveness with each other.


• Generally, I would love to see battle couple stuff at any point, whether it’s during the war or on a nighthunt or any other occasion where they have to defend themselves, each other, the other, or innocents.


• On the other hand, seeing the two of them being competent sect leaders together would be great, too. Jiang Cheng isn’t known for his gentle touch in diplomacy, but Lan Xichen probably folds too easily sometimes, so they really have matching strengths and weaknesses.


• What does Jin Ling think of his uncle’s relationship if he ever finds out? He’s getting surrounded by Lan... but Lan Xichen is at least pretty nice.


• I have to include a forehead ribbon prompt, of course. Does Lan Xichen offer it to Jiang Cheng? Does it fall off and Jiang Cheng doesn’t think for a moment before he picks it up and is quite mortified, but Lan Xichen says he’s allowed to touch it? Or maybe Jiang Cheng touches/grabs it accidentally and the way Lan Xichen gets flustered makes him wonder? Does Jiang Cheng take great pleasure in touching the thing once he’s allowed and Lan Xichen thinks it’s cute?


• I admit this is tropey as hell, but I always love animal shapeshifter stories. Maybe you shift according to your personality if you form a golden core? Or is it a hereditary thing (and what kind of shifters are the Jiang and the Lan? Did Wei Wuxian bring bunnies to Lan Wangji because he can turn into one, or is it something else)? • Smut is, of course, always appreciated. Whether it’s their first or hundredth time together, whether they’re both very experienced or both (or one of them) fumbling their way through, all would be great.


• Kink discovery could be really fun with these two. Lan Xichen, as a Lan, is probably somewhat sheltered. Maybe Jiang Cheng has to introduce him to some of the more daring concepts? I also like the idea of Lan Xichen being very embarrassed about a kink and Jiang Cheng eventually coaxing it out of him (already worried because Lan Xichen is making such a big deal out of it), except then it turns out to be something totally milquetoast that Lan Xichen just couldn’t just properly gauge as not-actually-that-kinky.


• In a same-sex-marriage-is-allowed AU of any sort, Jiang Cheng was hoping to ask for Lan Xichen’s hand at some point and had even gotten the approval of the Jiang elders. However, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji announce their betrothal first and now there’s really no political need to tie themselves even tighter to the Lan. Jiang Cheng pines away hard. To his surprise, Lan Xichen also seems a little distracted the next time they meet (perhaps it’s even at the Wangxian wedding). Turns out they may have had similar plans... when do they find out? Do they decide to marry, anyway?


• Alpha/Beta Jiang Cheng has always found himself being compared to Wei Wuxian (whether he’s also an alpha, or seems to outclass him even as a beta or omega). It means he’s definitely never had the confidence to court someone like omega Lan Xichen, who has so many suitors (especially not if his brother already snatched Lan Wangji, meaning Lan Xichen would constantly have Wei Wuxian around to compare the two). What changes his mind? Maybe they fall in love working together and he realises Lan Xichen already holds him in high regard? Or maybe Lan Xichen is the one who starts courting him?


• On the other hand, maybe Lan Xichen makes for a very awkward omega in the eyes of most (stronger than most alphas in both body and cultivation, tall, a fighter, a leader) and is surprised when Jiang Cheng ends up courting him.


• Idea for A/B/O or any other reason (some) men can get pregnant: Post-ending, a relatively broken Lan Xichen introduces the idea of an arranged marriage to Jiang Cheng so they can both get heirs for their respective sects, since Lan Xichen can carry children and doesn’t want/believe in a love marriage anymore, since obviously he's not great at picking the people he cares about. Jiang Cheng sees the political sense in it and has pretty much given up on finding a partner by himself, anyway. Only it turns out they end up falling in love accidentally...


• Idea for A/B/O or any other reason (some) men can get pregnant: Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen lick their wounds together post-ending and fall into bed together as acquaintances-with-benefits. Lan Xichen accidentally gets pregnant. During the pregnancy and/or after caring for the baby together, the two of them fall in love.


• I would also like Modern AUs for these guys. I’m sure their relationship still has some hiccups, but sometimes I just want nice things and no war and (excessive) bloodshed for them.

Nie Huaisang/Lan Xichen
This is such an interesting pairing because depending on the point in the timeline, it could be a cute story about Nie Huaisang’s crush on his older brother’s best friend, or an extremely fraught tale about two men who just came out of a very complicated situation that will leave them unsure about how the other feels about them, or maybe even how they feel about the other. Inbetween are potential AUs where they get in a relationship in the thirteen years between Nie Mingjue’s death and canon and Nie Huaisang tips Lan Xichen off much earlier (we do know from canon Lan Xichen does act against Jin Guangyao when presented with evidence he can’t refute), or where perhaps he doesn’t and leaves his lover Lan Xichen in the dark (maybe because he thinks Lan Xichen is just not a good enough liar to help with his plan, or wouldn’t want to believe him, or would do unwise things like confront Jin Guangyao directly) and they have to mend their broken trust later. All options sound great to me, so have at it! For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta Nie Huaisang.

• During the war, Lan Xichen is all over the country helping people. Sometimes, he ends up at the Unclean Realm/at the Cloud Recesses (wherever Nie Huaisang is), though, and finds an unlikely calm in the storm with him whenever he passes by and meets Nie Huaisang. This leads to them getting closer.


• Nie Huaisang having a big crush on Lan Xichen is generally a cute prompt to me. Maybe post-war things don’t go as sideways with Wei Wuxian (perhaps Lan Wangji can marry him to force others to see him as respectable again or something, or the Wens managed to flee and never became a point of contention, etc.) and he ends up being a slightly ridiculous matchmaker for his good friend Nie Huaisang?


• Modern AU would be fun for a mid-twenties romance, too, or in general! Sometimes, I just want them to have nice things without all the bloodshed and murder, lol.


• I also like weird set-up of Nie Huaisang having a bit of a puppy crush on Lan Xichen, but not at all wanting to disturb Nie Mingjue’s relationship with him. However, Nie Mingjue dies and after some time, Nie Huaisang and Lan Xichen end up getting closer.


• Okay, so what are we going to do about the Nie sabre problem, though? Because that’s going to continue to haunt the Nie sect. Is Nie Huaisang going to use his smarts to change their cultivation method? Maybe he needs Lan Xichen’s help to come up with something, since Lan Xichen is undoubtedly a much greater cultivator on a technical level or might find ways to incorporate the same energy that is used in Cleansing to regulate them. Lan Xichen may agree for the sake of stopping unnecessary deaths or to honour Nie Mingjue, but now Nie Huaisang and him are talking again…


• Lan Xichen doesn’t feel like he really knows who Nie Huaisang is post-canon, but decides he probably can’t afford to ignore him completely. On the other hand, he’s also not sure if he isn’t next on Nie Huaisang’s hit list for not catching on to Jin Guangyao’s betrayal sooner or accidentally providing him with the murder weapon. Nie Huaisang, meanwhile, has no plans to kill him, but isn’t sure where they stand, either. The two establishing a new kind of relationship would be interesting.


• Nie Huaisang is aware that Lan Xichen is not in a good state and people who have nothing to lose do unpredictable things sometimes. He comes to talk to him in seclusion mostly to prevent Lan Xichen from snapping and killing him. However, it turns out Lan Xichen isn’t really very angry at him and understands why he killed Jin Guangyao and they actually still get along, if on a different level than before.


• One of the most interesting differences between MDZS and The Untamed to me is that it’s said by the author that MDZS Nie Huaisang is planning to use his cunning to get into a leadership position, whereas the one in The Untamed pretty explicitly says he doesn’t want to get into things that don’t concern him and become Chief Cultivator. Maybe this would make it easier for Lan Xichen to trust him again in the long run? After all, it does pretty decisively separate him from Jin Guangyao.


• Relatedly, I’m not super sure that Lan Wangji would be happy having to deal with the more social aspects of the Chief Cultivator position (he’s not exactly a party animal, is he). Maybe Lan Xichen drags himself out of seclusion/pushes aside his depression if he’s not in seclusion to help him with a discussion or martial conference and of course they also have to invite Nie Huaisang for that. Maybe the two have a heart-to-heart, or over the course of several such occasions get closer?


• For a smaller, sweet prompt, Lan Xichen is apparently a renowned painter. I’m sure Nie Huaisang would love to have some of his paintings. Maybe he even gets Lan Xichen to paint a fan for him? Or Lan Xichen decides he wants to paint one as a gift.


• Lan Xichen giving Nie Huaisang some tips for his own painting would be fun, too (probably behind Nie Mingjue’s back if he’s still alive). Or just the two of the painting together – they have a nice shared hobby.

Is Nie Huaisang the less threatening form of what the other Nie turn into, like a very small tiger or something?)? What do Nie Huaisang and Lan Xichen shift into? Or maybe only one of them has that power?


• Of course, I would also love smut with these two. Whether it’s post-canon hate-fucking that turns accidentally less aggressive, or sweet, loving sex at any point in the timeline, all would be fun to explore.


• I could actually see Lan Xichen being the virgin between them, what with all those rules forbidding frivolities. Not to worry, Nie Huaisang is happy to teach him!


• First time bottoming for Lan Xichen would be fun. Maybe they always did it the other way around because it was sort of ‘expected’, with Lan Xichen being older and much bigger and what limited understanding he has of sex told him that means he should take the lead. But Nie Huaisang asks to switch at some point and Lan Xichen realizes it’s actually really fun this way, too.


• Nie Huaisang is a bit famous for his sizeable smut collection. Lan Xichen ends up stumbling over some of it in his bedroom. Maybe Nie Huaisang catches him while he’s leafing through the book? Or maybe Lan Xichen saw some fairly outlandish things, but because he’s still a sheltered Lan, he’s not quite sure what is expected. Can he get over himself and bring up his concerns to Nie Huaisang?


• Or maybe Nie Huaisang is quite eager to share his porn! I would love for them to go through that to take inspiration (even if Lan Xichen probably feels like his head is going to explode looking at so much indecent material, but maybe he is more curious than he admits...).


• For an A/B/O AU: alpha Nie Huaisang and omega Lan Xichen would actually make a pretty sensible match based on status alone. Even if Nie Huaisang is an alpha, he’s probably not a very stereotypically impressive one, so he could be an omega sect leader’s ‘lesser’ partner (and Nie Mingjue is probably relieved Nie Huaisang will be married to someone who can protect him). Nie Huaisang knows people laugh behind their back – an alpha who has to hide behind his omega’s back, how embarrassing –, but to his surprise, Lan Xichen actually approves of the arrangement. I bet Nie Huaisang has other ways than brute strength to be prove himself a good alpha and partner for Lan Xichen, anyway.


• On the other hand, maybe Lan Xichen makes for a very awkward omega in the eyes of most (stronger than most alphas in both body and cultivation, tall, a fighter, a leader) and is surprised when Nie Huaisang ends up courting him. However, if Nie Huaisang is an alpha, he knows what it’s like not to live up to stereotypes, and if he’s a beta, maybe he just doesn’t care about all that.


• Nie Huaisang becoming Lan Xichen’s husband would also work for any other AU where men can marry. He’s a second-born heir with no known inheritance of his own, so politically it would make sense. Lan Xichen and Nie Huaisang finding their way through this arranged marriage and ending up very much in love would be nice.


• When Nie Mingjue dies, Lan Xichen is mpregnant with his child. Nie Huaisang is there to support him and to take care off his nephew/niece, of course. Over time, the two of them start to get closer as they parent the baby together.


• For Art:Any of the above prompts would be great. One of them wearing the robes of the other’s sect (or parts of them) would be really nice to see, and I’m sure Lan Xichen would also look great in Nie braids. They also have a pretty significant height difference, so Lan Xichen bending down to kiss him would be nice. Nie Huaisang touching the forehead ribbon or pulling it off would be sweet. Smut would be great as well if you’re so inclined, whether it’s the kinky or romantic type, or both. I would also love a picture of Lan Xichen keeping Nie Huaisang safe during a night hunt or the war, or the two whispering during a Discussion Conference. Nie Huaisang also definitely enjoys the finer things in life and Lan Xichen is trained in quite a few of them, so although he needs no spiritual healing, Nie Huaisang would surely like listening to Lan Xichen playing the guqin or flute for him. Also, in book canon Lan Xichen likes to draw and is apparently very good and Nie Huaisang enjoys painting as well, so if you want to imitate a sketch or painting one of them did, that would be great, too.

Original Male Character/Lan Xichen
I always like seeing what people come up with when it comes to original characters, and I would really enjoy seeing Lan Xichen bouncing off all kinds of guys you might invent, as I think he has a personality that allows him to get along with quite a lot of different types. Something that starts in his youth or during his time as sect leader would be really fascinating to see, though something post-canon would be just as great. I mean, oh boy, canon did not end well for Lan Xichen, did it? I guess unlike many others, he is not dead, but all his best friends are, he’s learned he should not trust his own judgement even a little bit, and is understandably riddled with guilt about both deaths of his sworn brothers. It would be great if he also found someone to love and trust, or if he had an existing lover who could give him a hug. I have some ideas below, but anyone over eighteen who is not related to Lan Xichen and wasn't raised by him (like significantly younger disciples of his own sect) works. For smut, I prefer bottom Lan Xichen. If you include mpreg, I prefer pregnant Lan Xichen. For A/B/O, I prefer omega Lan Xichen and alpha or beta OMC.

• Who is the OMC? Maybe a cultivator from a sect who used to come visit when Lan Xichen was still in Lan Qiren’s classes, and whom he maybe had a boyhood crush on? Then, years later, they run into each other again at a Discussion Conference or something.


• Maybe he’s a cultivator or even a civilian that Lan Xichen meets while he’s saving people all over during the Sunshot Campaign. Both being exhausted, frightened, desperate, they spend a night or a few together. They do not expect to meet again (perhaps regretfully so), but it turns out that person moved to Gusu/joined a prominent sect and suddenly they’re facing each other after the war.


• The OMC could also be a rogue cultivator who Lan Xichen knows and likes because he sometimes helps at the edges of their sect’s area. Working together again and again during night-hunts, they get closer.


• Or he could just be a commoner who lives in Gusu or in the surrounding villages who ends up keeping an eye out for the supernatural (maybe he’s a regular hunter who travels back and forth quite a bit). Lan Xichen and him keep meeting up and end up really liking each other.


• If this is past the end of the story, maybe Lan Xichen decides to go night-hunting on his own and then finds himself being hit on by a random traveller/regular hunter who doesn’t know who he is. Feeling like he has little to lose at this point, he shares the bed with him, and they start travelling together. He tells him he’s a sect leader, but the traveller knows little about cultivation and Lan Xichen actually likes just getting to be a person around him. It’s probably a bit of a surprise when Lan Xichen takes him back to the lofty Cloud Recesses, or it’s revealed in a meeting with other cultivators just how renowed Lan Xichen is.


• Or, if he’s in seclusion, a low-level disciple he knows but has never been particularly close with is tasked with checking on him from time to time. Lan Xichen and him start talking, and then feelings slowly develop. Did the disciple always have a bit of a crush on Lan Xichen?


• For something more light-hearted, post-canon Wei Wuxian catching wind of some guy always hanging around Lan Xichen and immediately realising what is going on (maybe even before Lan Xichen does) would be very fun. Hey, Lan Xichen is so depressed and it worries Lan Wangji, so as a good husband and brother-in-law, Wei Wuxian basically has to intervene and make this happen...


• Smut would be great! Is the OMC the one who takes Lan Xichen’s virginity or vice versa, or are they both experienced? Does the OMC introduce him to some fun kinks or is in possession of some interesting pornography books? Is Lan Xichen in a “nothing matters” mood after the end and sleeps with several strangers in some attempt to stifle the pain, but ends up accidentally catching feelings for one of them?


• For A/B/O or any other AU where two men can create a child (or are allowed to adopt an heir), Lan Xichen is pushed by the elders to finally get married. Since he knows his duties, he lets them pick an important member of a promising sect. Lan Xichen really did not expect their marriage to be based on love, but to his surprise he actually finds himself enjoying the OMC’s presence.


• A slightly darker version could be that Lan Xichen is forced by the Wen sect to get married to protect the Lan sect. They want to humiliate him, so they give him someone unsuitable – a low level Wen disciple, or someone from an obscure clan like YingchuanWang (or another clan that has come into existence under similarly disreputable circumstances). However, the OMC was never a happy Wen servant, he gets along with Lan Xichen, ends up falling hard for him and defects. (If you want to go plotty or include background happy early Wangxian, maybe the Burial Mound-problem never appears because this husband consolidates the rest of the innocent Wen and gains protection for them.)


• If the arranged marriage happens past the ending of the novel, maybe Lan Xichen thinks he can’t bring himself to really love or trust anyone who is not his immediate family anymore. Because he feels guilty that his husband is getting him in this broken state, he tries to be at least pleasant and polite. Turns out his husband, also being a quite high-ranking cultivator, of course knows what happened and ends up being honestly supportive and starts drawing him out more and more. Lan Xichen can’t help but be charmed...


• For Art: Any of the above would be great! The two of them sharing clothes would be nice to see. The OMC holding the forehead ribbon or it being wrapped around his arm or him otherwise playing with it would be great, too. Maybe Lan Xichen plays the flute for him or they dance to someone else playing music? Of course, the two of them embracing, kissing, sitting quietly together (or not so quietly, depending on the OMC’s personality) would also be great. Smut, whether romantic or kinky or both, would of course be appreciated. The two of them fighting together during a night-hunt, if the OMC is a cultivator, would also make for a great picture, but so would Lan Xichen protecting him if the OMC is not a fighter. Also, in the book Lan Xichen likes to draw and is apparently very good, so if you want to imitate a sketch or painting he did of them, that would be great as well.
